I've been home off and on for 36 years raising kids. I have never watched even one soap. I prefer to watch the news during the day, maybe a movie or truTV which airs various investigative reports and documentaries about missing people or murderers. Recently there was a program on about Charles Manson which was very interesting called "The Most Evil." I also really enjoy talk shows on local tv.

I LOVE trutv (which used to be called Court TV) - I followed one or two of the court cases. Anyway, when I lived in the basement of our house, the only cable we got was for the kid television that we all had to share, while, even though it was hooked up, I could only get the basic cable. So, yeah, I had soaps on...I laughed my head off at it though...

Hi Terry, glad to know that you have found something to kill your tedious time after having the surgery. I believe watching soap operas at least could bring some amusement to you in this very moment. Nowadays I do spend some time sitting on the sofa watching Hong Kong soap operas if I feel bored after doing tedious chores. I was quite addicted to X-files many years ago lol ...

Oh my NO!!!!!
It's a cry from the heart because I hate soap operas LOL
Even at the times where I had to be home and couldn't do anything -being sick or something - I never switched to any channel to watch soap operas. SO my friend... your case is serious hehehehehehe
Ok answering you question.. no, thankfully I am not addicted to soap operas but I am kind of addicted to the computer so we're more or less on the same boat :)
As for which ones. I couldn't even begin to give you a name, I think that my mother is law used to watch one called passions or something. All I remember is that I would see her watching it one day, she would try to explain to me what was happening and then a month later I would see her watching it again and it was basically more or less on the same spot LOL

I do like soaps (of course we have totally different ones to you guys) but I'm not addicted to them - I never mind if I see them or not. I do sometimes get a bit caught up with some of them but with 2 kids in the house it is impossible to get addicted - I would rather spend my time mylotting! xxx

Hi terry. Yes, I used to watch General and All My Children. I LOVED AMC! I stopped watching after my daughter was born because I was tired of having to be home at 1:00 every day to watch it. Of course, now there's SoapNet and DVR's, so I could start up again! LOL

I am so addicted to All My Children. I have been watching it for about 30 years. I have either watched it live or recorded it for all those years. When I first started watching All My Children I was watching General Hospital too, but I only watched that one for a couple of years.

I have watched the soaps for most of my life, TerryZ, that is, until recently. For a long time I couldn't imagine living without my daily fix of my favorite soaps. I was involved with the characters and knew more about what was going on in their lives than I did in my own.I decided to give them all up last year when my favorite was moved to another venue and I could find no good reason to pay for a service simply in order to watch one soap. I even became so angry many years ago when one of my favorites was canceled that I went to another station to watch their soaps.

I like tow atch Days of our Lives but now that I am working again, I don't get to see it very often. I also like All my Children, but again, I don't get to watch it very often either. Then I like General Hospital and the Yound and Restless, which I get to watch since I am home by then, most days. I don't have my VCR set up right now, because I moved and haven't gotten around to it yet, butt just as soon as I do, I will tape the shows so I can watch them in the evenings or on the weekends. I haven't watched the first two shows I talk about, for over 2 months but I am sure I haven't missed too much.

I'm addicted to Raw and Smackdown! Those are male soap operas. Just remember, if you want a soap opera guy, you have to act like a soap opera girl. Enjoy your tela novelas, and get well soon.

I haven't watched a soap opera in about 20+ years. Its just not my cup of tea. I don't watch much tv anyway, but soaps are at the bottom of the list. I suppose that with a surgery and being stuck at home, they may move up some, but for me, not much.

Here in the UK we have a soap called Emmerdale which I am entirely addicted too! It's on every day during the week and an hour on a Tuesday always at 7pm unless football interrupts or cancels it, (why does everything stop for football?) grrrr. Anyhow I never miss it, even when I'm away on holiday in the UK I still have to see it. I don't have a video so can't record it and don't have Sky plus either. I hate missing it. I used to watch Home and Away and Neighbours but that was about ten, twelve years ago now, guess I weened myself off soaps now, in fact I spend most of my time on the computer now instead of watching tv. Happy watching my friend! xx
