How Does Color Effect Your Mood?

I have read research on the fact that certain colors invoke certain emotions in people. During a design class I read this list: Blue: can be cool, contemplative, subdoing Red: can be passionate, exciting, active (can also make you hungry) Green: can be quieting, refreshing, peaceful Purple: can be dignified, pompous, mournful, and mystic Yellow: can be cheerful, inspiring, and vital (it's also one of the hardest colors for the human eye to process) Black: can be deadly and depressing I am wondering what some of your experiences with color have been and how they could change or effect your mood. Also, what colors have you used in your environmant and why? Is it really true that color can effect the way we feel?

I actually use colour therapy on myself and my kids on occasion...for example we use pale blue to calm nerves, induce sleep and relieve stress....black is used to absorb negativity....Purple is to help with spirituality...Brown is a grounding colour....Yellow is to aid in education/learning/studying etc....Red is a passionate, lusty and energizing colour....pink is for self love....those are pretty much the only ones I use..Oh and light purple such as lavander is also a calming colour...
