How in the world can someone abandon there child in a walmart? i seen that on the news yesterday and couldnt believe it. I understand if your here illegally then fine but atleast that that child to the correct place not just a walmart of all places. i couldnt help but think of how that little boy felt to see his mommy leave him there and never come back. and to think if he got into the wrong hands what could have happened.
I guess some people dont think like that. Its so sad! I feel so bad for that little boy.
Did anyone else see that on nancy grace?

Yes I did see that on the local news as well last night. Some parents really have no brain what so ever! It gets me sick to my stomach. I could only emagine what could have happened to that little boy. What if it was a killer or rapist. Just the thought scares me. I'm just glad that this little boy will now be fed and have a good loving home to go to where parents will actually love him and not drop him off at a local walmart!

This is the first ive heard about it.... i think its awful that she did that, i couldnt leave any child like that weather they were my own or not.
Like you say if they had their reasons for doing it they could at least take them to the right place. What an awful place to leave a 2yr old. Poor little might.

Aww, this is the first I have heard of this story. It is so sad! I feel so bad for the little boy. How old was the boy? I mean was it a baby or a toddler? Is he old enough to remember the day his mom left him at walmart? That is so very sad. I can't understand how anyone could do this. If she didn't feel like she wanted him or couldn't take care of him anymore she should have went to Child protective services or she should have left him at a hospital or somewhere that allows people to leave their children in order to make sure that the child is safe. But then again if she isn't wanting the child anymore, why would she care about his safety. What a sick world we live in anymore...ugh, this kind of thing disguist me!

That is so awful - I hadn't heard that until now. People can be so cruel. I just don't understand how a mother could leave her child anywhere or at anytime. It makes me very angry to say the least. I am very sad for the boy, but thank God like you said he didn't get into the wrong hands.

Child abandonment is the worst thing a person can ever do. I'd rather take my child to a police station at where I know its safe

First time I heard about this news..very sad, I wonder if the store has a hidden camera and can trace who is the responsible person for this..I hope that boy will be adopted and find happiness and be treated as a real family!

Ive seen children left by their parents on malls house and other establishments, but those are only minor things. That is not cruel enough. What is cruel? A parent throwing her baby out of the taxi and another parent throwing out of the window. Ive seen this on the news here in the philliphines. Those children left at the establisments were at least given a chance to live unlike those who were simply thrown out as if they were papers.

Its either the parents are plain lazy or plain poor. Nevertheless there is no politically or morally correct reason for leaving a child at such a place. If those parents were really poor they should've taken the child to an orphanage, a child welfare home, or a monestary. If they take them to such places, (one of which is a government institution) they will be assessed if they are financially able. If they are deemed to be able to provide physiological needs for the child, the parents (especially the mother) should take charge of child care. And if the parents dare do this act after being assessed "able", then they are by all means lazy scum who should be put behind bars.

I firmly believe that there should be a "parent test". If you fail the test, you are not allowed to have children. This lady would have failed. Many people would have failed. We could seriously cut down on child abuse, abandoned children, and homeless children if we could could make this "test" a law... If you take it 3 times and fail, you get sterilized. =)

I didn't see it since the show didn't air. I wonder what was going through the mom's mind? Maybe she just didn't know how to take care of the boy anymore? She was probably suffering from the inflation recently and couldn't afford to support her child anymore. Assuming this is true, then Walmart would be a good choice because it's safe and crowded. The mother was probably banking on someone else picking up the kid. Nevertheless, it's unacceptable for a mom to abandon her own child. He is a human person after all and it is he duty to provide for him.
