Having a digital camera is great. I never go back to the film roll camera again. I bought a new digital camera in December 2003 and paid $500 for 3.2 pixels. Boy did the prices ever drop especailly now have digital cameras with 10 or higher pixels. Boy that's technology. Everything is upgrading and you can't even keep up. Now I like to get an updated digital camera.

Big time yes! Thing about digital cameras is you take pictures and you can delete what you want and take many as you want where film if it didn't turn out, then its a waste.

Yeah..a digital camera with a 3.2 megapixels could be consider as old version.I do owned an olympus digicam with that pixels. Now,my phone camera have that pixels and its actually have better quality than it.Right !! Digital Camera are getting cheaper nowadays..For now, since im used to using those professional camera in school which cost over 2k or more.Im more prone to use it as it capture high quality photos.Thats what its called a real photographer.I love to capture photos.Even i would not get those professional camera for now,i wish to have a new digicam with a higher pixels, like you do!

I never heard of an olympus digicam. I am little behind with these things they added. Since you mentioned about cell phones taking pictures, I believe they will get better everytime. I look at the prices of the digital cameras average are $100 to $300 depending on the pixels.

I've had my camera since about 2005 its an 8 megapixel camera. It still works fine and takes very goot quality photos but I too would love to upgrade to an SLR digital camera to take more proffesional shots when I'm out and about with it. I can't afford it though so I guess I'll just have to dream :)

Yeah just like me. I say to my 2 teenage daughters (15 & 17) someday I will buy a better camera. My 17 yrs old bought one for $350 sale price reg was $550. She got a good deal. She bought it with her babysitting money. She has a good camera with 6 or 7 pixels or more, I can't remember.

I bought mine in 2004. It's only a 4.0 pixel and I paid about $300 for it then. I bought it so I wouldn't have to pay a photographer to take my son's senior pictures.
I knew I could take them myself and do a good job.
And I could also keep the camera for years to come for less than the price of paying a photographer.
I still use that same camera. It's a sony cybershot. I love it. I would like to get more pixels someday and yes, I know the prices are much lower now too! I just have so many other things on my 'needs' and 'wants' lists.

With these digital cameras, pictures can be the same quality as the photographers. On my wedding day October 8 1988, I had my 2 brother in laws taking the pictures with their "good" cameras and the pictures are not the best quality compared to the pictures taken from my digital camera. Too bad back then they didn't have digital cameras. We couldn't afford to pay $2000 for a photographer.
