Where in the world, if the chance arose?

Lets say that the opportunity arose for you to be in a position to be able to do whatever you want. You have worked hard, or invested in the right area at the right time and it has paid off.
Whatever the situation you are now in a position to be able to live wherever you want to in the world. Me, I have to say that a hot country is somewhat appealing, I seem to suffer terrible when it is cold, I cannot get warm. I am cold to the bone. The only time I feel slightly warmer is when it is about 70 degrees. I quite like the look of Cypress.
Where would you choose to live?

Hello dear gemini_rose. I think that I will still choose to stay where I am used to live as it is a place which I am familiar with even if I am given another chance to. We have four relevant seasons and in fact I love each of the seasons. My location is a small town close the capital city of Zhejiang Province, Hangzhou. It is a quite and clean town with many different kinds of bamboos.

I'm the exact opposite...I would prefer to move and live in a place that is relatively cooler most times..and 70 and below...I feel more alive in the cooler or colder weather...I've never been in the areas, but I have seen photos of the New England states and even Oregon and Washington state and they are breathtakingly beautiful...even areas of British Columbia in Canada...and plant myself somewhere with a LOT of trees...(gee wonder why I want that??--if you've followed my furious discussions you'll understand why..LOL)

I'd definitely get out of New Jersey. It's way too expensive living here these days. And over populated. I'd like to live in the suburbs of Ontario or Australia. I'd prefer to live in areas that have clearly defined four seasons. Because I wouldn't want it to be cold or hot all year long.

I would love to live in a climate that is about 70 degrees during the day and about 65 at night, that would be perfect.. It would also have to be an interesting place with plenty to do to keep me occupied.. San Diego CA has some pretty good weather, almost perfect, I have heard, but I am not sure if I would really like to live in CA after living in Tennessee all of my life.. But as I get older, the weather either gets too hot or too cold and I would love some perfect weather also..

Actually, I quite like where I am...Southeast Georgia. The winters aren't that bad, though the summers can be quite warm, but I don't mind. What I like about it the most, is that there are a lot of places for me to fish, which is something that I love.

Even if I had all the money in the world I would stay living in the West Country of England as this is where I feel at home and I enjoy the beautiful rugged coastline and lush green fields and countryside but what I would do instead is travel the world and see the things that have always intrigued, the Bermuda Triangle (if I didn't get lost!), the Pyramids in Egypt and cruise the Nile, The Great Wall of China, Fiji as my daughter loved it there, Canada, America, Mexico as I now have friends from here there oh just so many places to visit. Ellie :D

I also like warm climates so perhaps if I ever get tired
of where I am in southern Ca I would go to Hawaii for
awhile then come back here as my heart is in Ca and I
really really like it here even in the hot weather like
right now. its more like ninety here tonight.

If I do have the opportunity to choose, I would still like to live here in the Philippines. But given the financial freedom that I would have, I would do something most of the rich don't here in my country. I would try to establish businesses whose main goal is to provide opportunities to the least fortunate. A place where I could train them to fish rather than to beg for what they need. A place where education from top universities or colleges is not at all important. A place where out of school youth and women in need can have refuge at the same time be able to work and earn a living for their families.
A little something to help and make things a little bit more comfortable for them.

I don't really know where I would end up living because if I had the means to I would travel. I would love to spend a spring in the countryside of Ireland. All the pictures you see of Ireland at that time of the are so green and lush. I would walk the countryside and visit the ancient ruins of castles and soak up all the local myths and folklore.
Then with summer I would move on to the Caribean Islands. Long lazy days on the beach.
With fall I would head to South America. Once again it's the ancient ruins that draw my fascination. Long abandoned Myan temples and other structures still stand in remote locations. Imagine walking through places built and forgotten for so long.
As winter approached I would head to Australia. So much to see and do.
So I have no clue where I would end up living, but it sure would be fun trying to find the right place.

Well I don’t know Rose…I have not been able to travel much so I don’t know very many places. All of them look equally beautiful to me. Why, I have not been able to cover my own country yet and there are so many beautiful places here. But what everybody of us knows is that each place has its own pros and cons, its own beauty and ugly side. So instead of settling down, what about travelling??? Let’s say if I do manage to have so much money, I would live out of suitcases and see as many places as I could afford to! Yet, at the end of the day…there’s no place like home, wherever that be!
