Vista is a very famous Space and RAM eating OS.
They eat a lot of RAM and space for slow and worst performance....

Hie Ycp, I have not try it yet but I have heard lots of comments about it ( not so good ones )since the first day it was launched. And a lot of computer savvy friends told me to wait and see, not to rush into getting one as it has not proven its good performances as yet.
I am not a trend setter and I always believe that new things/products are not always good and it is worthwhile to wait for awhile for reviews from critics or other consumers before making a decision to purchase one.
Most of the time whatever they have said or claimed - how good the product was, it is just too good to be true!
Thank you for sharing your views of the product and hope things will get better for you soon.
Cheers,

Thank you for the BR and I am sorry that you have gone through such a hassle.
So what are you going to do about the problem or just bear with it?

Sadly, I think that Vista is a mess. To market a product that conflicts with so many 3rd party products, you think it would cause them to lose business. But sole source guarantees them the business.
My own experience has been many BSOD's. Dell made a bad decision selling their computers with Vista.
They might just lose my business because of it.

LOL...and people tease me because I use Windows 2000 still. I use FireFox, too. It blocks so much more junk than IE. I want to get a new laptop soon, but I am dreading Vista. It seems to take Microsoft years to get the bugs out of their systems. I was hoping by now they would have had the bugs out.

Firefox is a lot better than IE,
but Vista will force you to use IE,
and they will have some restriction on using Firefox.

Those are some strong words. I'd have to say that I agree with you. I have Vista. I don't experience frustration on that level though. Maybe it's because I'm used to a machine that randomly crashed whenever it felt like it. It's an improvement from that but I'd much rather have Windows XP. Vista is all show in my opinion.

My Vista always crash with my browser.
Microsoft always said that they will improve at Windows Update,
but I found that they just put more restriction on my computer instead of update.

Big brother, I think I share the same idea with you. I have the useless vista windows and it limited my activities on the internet. Can you imagine I cannot login into any known messengers in the world and a whole lot of tasks that cannot perform using their garbage called vista. Microsoft should work on the evil technology.

I agree vista is failure, even on the fastest computer. Never think of getting a slow computer and vista. Vista itself needs at least 1 gb of RAM, and when you do something else you need even more. I got myself a new computer and vista works fine, but its not as good as XP was, you can get all the fancy lookings windows, transparent stuff to XP too. Vista has too many "so called" new features that it rips itself apart and gets too complicated. It has good features, but very bad ones too. Also most of my old good games don't work on my Vista, so i'm really not satisfied of my purchase at all, but i hate it when some games REQUIRE vista...So i can't get rid of vista and just have to get used to it.

Frankly speaking, I don't really know anything about programs. My husband bought my laptop in Canada and when it arrived here Vista is already installed. As I was reading your topic and responses here, I really learned a lot. I keep on blaming my internet provider because most of the time, my computer is hanging. And really very slow when I'm logging in. Now I know, the program itself is the one to blame and the one who is causing it. Thanks for the information.

I don't agree with your opinions on Vista. I have been using Vista for months now and don't encounter any of the problems you've mentioned. At first, it took some time for me to adjust to the new features, but over time I got more familiar. I actually like the improvements. Not only am I able to look for documents faster, I can also compartmentalize everything. This new version is more user-friendly I believe. Try giving it some time, please. :)

I don't agree with anything you said. What kind of computer do you have Vista running on? Pentium 2 450Mhz? haha
And what type of VIsta are you running? Basic? I think that's the one that has given people trouble. I bought my laptop and it came with Windows Vista Premium and I have never had any type of problems with it. So it might be you the one with the problems, and not vista

My husband is using Windows Vista at work, and he says he's h3ll!!! I hope that my XP laptop lasts forever. I don't feel like upgrading (or should that be downgrading?)

its not like its really a failure for microsoft...loooking back at XP before, they also experience a lot of set back when they launch the software..for one, there are already existing softwares that may not be compatible to the last version, thats why some people are having problems with it.. im not working with microsoft, im working with ATT for the internet and were also experiencing the same problem. right now, microsoft if working on the software, taking in new considerations and necessary adjustments to make it work for the better.

I don't think its a failure, people are not just used to it. When XP was released, people though it sucked etc. but now its the most used operating system.
I tested Vista on my older computer and I was just thinking it sucks. Well, then I changed back to XP until I bought new computer. I installed Vista on it and I've been using it now for half year without any problems. I have got no viruses, etc. everything works just well.
