Hi friends,
After failure of windows vista Microsoft is going to a master piece of windows operating system windows 7.
Windows 7 is the successor of windows vista.Currently we know almost many things and issues regarding vista but the next question to us is do you thing microsoft is going to rule aging in market after the release of windows7 .
Microsoft has planned to release windows 7 in year 2010.
Please post your opinion about windows7.
Do you think Microsoft will resolve all the bugs and they will not introduce new bugs in upcoming operating system??

No.
Microsoft never improved.
The latest their product,
the more restriction on non-Microsoft program.
They just create more and more Microsoft support system,
which work bad.
Compare IE7 and old IE,
I think IE7 is worst than older version.

IE 7 is more secure, thus, it is not so easy to use as IE 6. I like Version 6 more, because it is more comfortable to use. Moreover, I would even prefer Firefox to IE7 as far as multi-tab interface is concerned, as IE7 often opens multiple windows with tabs, while Firefox opens all the "target=_blank" pages in one window as default.

I would agree with you that Firefox is such a better browser than Internet Explorer. Its just a shame that Internet explorer, and outlook express are bundled with the operating system.

Working as a test engineer, I must confirm that there are no bug-free software products. Some bugs are often marked as Won't Fix, As Designed or Not Worth Effort. So, you can imagine how many bugs there might be in a new and fully tested piece of software.
I doubt Microsoft is so bad in general: after all, the overwhelming majority of people use Windows nowadays. However, I strongly agree that the company should try hard this time not to suck as it did with Vista. At least, it seems to have sucked so far, but who knows, if service packs are good and fix the bugs, the OS might become somewhat more appealing... As some have mentioned, Vista looks are quite attractive.
Windows 7 cannot be exempt from bugs, but if it is fast, comfortable to use (like XP) and secure (as Vista), it will be a masterpiece.

I don't think Windows7 will be a success.
Windows XP was a super success and almost everyone uses XP.
But after Vista many people have abandoned Microsoft
And now Microsoft will have to do a lot better to get them to change their minds about Microsoft.

Can't wait to try Windows 7. I have been using Vista for about 8 months now and it really gave me headaches. I hope it will not be pricey. I have been planning before to switch from Vista to XP but I was told that Vista is the latest. I hope they release Windows 7 sooner.

Why start now? They have yet to roll out a product free of bugs yet. I'm still running Windows 2000 for just that reason. I use FoxFire because it is better IE and blocks out all the stuff the programmers at IE haven't been able to block. I'm looking for a new laptop and I'm dreading getting Vista. I never hear anything good about it. Microsoft just keeps rolling out new products before they even have the older versions stable. Maybe they should try fixing what they have before starting a new version. They might learn something.

Microsoft is just planning its own doom. I mean if they had taken their time with Vista it would ave come out great. IE isn't that bad if you know how to use it.
Vista is actually not that bad of a program. As many people have said its just because computers cant handle it. Most new laptops though can handle it perfectly.

I have Vista now, and am seriously considering 'downgrading' to XP. I was soooo happy with my old Windows98 and only fianlly changed because nothing was compatible with it anymore.

I too have Vista now and would love to go back to XP. I have tried to do that because I have the CD, but I can't install it with Vista already on it. It gives me an incompatability message. If you know how to install it, let me know.

I'm not totally sure, but I think you have to uninstall Vista first. That's where I'm afraid I'll mess something up and not have ANY OS left at all! The way I went from 98 to Vista was by getting a whole new computer, lol!

Given how lousy Vista is, I'm not sure. I mean MS has gotten to the point to try and PUSH people to upgrade by halting the sells of XP. Yet people are clamoring for XP and downgrading from Vista.
MS has a lot of work to do if they want peope to move to Windows 7. I went from 98 to XP, and really have no plans for getting Vista. It's far too much of a resorce hog for my tastes.

I am using widows XP and donot have much information about vista. I heard that it is a failure. Before that I thought I will switch over to vista if it will be a success. I think now Microsoft will try to bring out windows 7 faultless otherwise they can not withstand.

This next OS had better be more satisfactory than Vista. Vista gave me so many problems that it just wasn't worth it. You didn't have anywhere near enough control. It looked cool, but that's all I'll give it.
I think many people are going to be reluctant to get Windows 7 after Vista. If it's really good, word may spread and it may pick up, but Vista was a big mistake.
I can't foresee if there will be no bugs, who knows. It's impossible to tell until it comes out.

When windows7 release i can talk about wether is good or bad,i think people is conditioned to winxp, so people don't like vista and windows7. MS must resolve the bug. i think so.

Well IMO Vista is not a mistake OS, I know there is lots of bugs but it will be fixed soon, they have release SP1 so I think it will fix most issues and improve performance. BTW Windows 7 is next major release, and hopefully more stable and faster than vista, they already done with it's new kernel, reducing bloats and they promise for fresh new easier interface that also support multi-touch. I think Microsoft has learned it's mistakes and most people complaints, so hopefully Windows 7 would correct mistakes from vista. Probably Microsoft will integrate Windows Live and Live Mesh to Windows 7.
BTW before Windows 7 comes we might using Vista SP2...how knows ;)

Hi moneymint, Everytime Microsoft comes out with a new Windows operating system, I try it. I have liked XP better than all of them, but I now have Vista. I bought a new computer which had Vista already loaded. There are things I like about it, but there are things I really don't like. I play games at Slingo.com and Pogo.com but cannot get online with the servers. I get messages about Java not being installed or that the server cannot connect. I have uninstalled Java about 10-12 times and reinstalled it, but I still am having the same problem. I have contacted both Slingo and Pogo and have done everything they told me to do, but still have the same problem. I have DSL service and have contacted them as well. They assure me it is not a problem with their server. It has to be a problem with Vista. Have you heard anyone else having this problem, and if so, what did they do to remedy it. Any help you can give me will be most appreciated.

I have to be completely honest-I'm very computer stupid. I'm not even sure what version of windows I have although I believe that it is 2003. I do have tons of problems and little gray screens pop-up all the time saying that the system has to close down and recommends that I de-bug and send error reports.
I do believe however that ultimately it is man-made and therefore open to many errors so I don't believe that the bugs will ever go completely away.

As usual, Microsoft will feed us titbits of info leading us up to the launch, and then eventually when it launches, to all the fanfare, will initially look good and everyone will say WOW.
But at the end of the day, it will probably be full of bugs as usual and security flaws that will need updates from virtually Day one, and it will probably do not much different to what XP or Vista does.
Lets face it, with more applications on the net and more software to download, if your existing Operating system doesn't have what you want, you can normally find the Widget or gadget on the web that does, for free, and that works (if it doesn't you can just uninstall it and find another at no cost).

It would be very nice if they would provide those of us who have Vista because that's what was being installed on many of the computers being sold - with the new system to replace it for free!

Yes i do agree that it'll eventually fix all the things thats wrong with vista. With 3 years of R&D, if it is still the same then Microsoft lost it's place up top. and as yu all can see Microsoft also has repeated history with it's Vista like the infamous Windows ME, but i'm sure Windows 7 will be a successor to XP.
