I joined mylot 2 years ago and Iam one of the early birds here. I was really overjoyed with the site so much so, I spent almost 14 to 18hours a day for over 3 months and earned hundreds of dollars for my contribution here. Later on due to my preoccupation with business Icould not concentrate much here, but then I am still active here having been in 1st place for couple of months and now in the 2nd place as far as user rating is concerned.

I remember when I was still a newbie, I feel that I was lost. I don't have friends to talk to.
I also don't know how I will start like am I going to make a discussion or just respond instead.
At that time, I only just respond on my first participation here. Later on, since being cleared to all of my doubts and questions, I was able to feel comfortable already participating here.
Before I forget, welcome to myLot. Hope you would enjoy your stay. :-)

I still feel like a newbie even though I signed on to MyLot about 2 years ago. At first I felt nervous, excited about making a little extra money, and strange to be doing something I never did before. I didn't log in for 2 months during last winter due to major personal family health issues and I wasn't aware that by doing so I would lose points, discussions I posted, my star, my number 8 rating, etc. But it doesn't matter, it's not important. Now that I've reached my 100th post recently I still feel new because the site has changed a bit. I really like this discussion topic. How do you feel about being a newbie? Good luck at MyLot in any case. Take care.

Well when i joined i hoped for money. After a while i was a bit disappointed with low earnings and low answers to my discussions. I learned that mylot-ing is about learning English, hearing about many things that you did not know and earning an small extra income (if you use no referrals).
Short advice: with time it gets better, so keep posting here and you will experience it yourself.

Hi There Elitess,
I agree with you using mylot is practising you're knowledge in English. It helps enhanced your grammar, vocabulary and sentence construction.

well at first you'll have a little bit feeling of strange and an eagerness to know how mylot really works.
a lot of questions coming in your mind...
how do they pay me?
how to earn fast?
how to get a star reputation?
and a lot more as you go along here...

When I was new here, I had some doubts as to whether I will really stay here for good. I also felt a little inferior because most of the members here already had many posts. But at the same time, I felt excited to be able to achieve the same things old members have achieved.

Well, when I first joined, I felt excited of what is going on here, are we really paid by this, Are the people here are nice, etc. There are many things in my mind but when I started to receive responses to my posts, I feel happy, and since then, I don;t like to absent from mylot. I feel good here. I am here for a month only. But I am enjoying so far.

I am not so new here but I came a long way now. The first time I visited and posted here... I was so excited, not because of earning but because of sharing my thoughts and hearing people out as well. This is what I find most enjoyable here in myLot. Right now, I still feel that certain kind of excitement. Also a sense of belongingness since myLot people are very warm and friendly. I hope you enjoy your stay here. Give me a pm if you need anything. ^^

I dont really live being new here. I feel like theres so much I dont know about, I feel like Im not going to form relationships with people, and I feel like Im just wasting my time and others. Hopefully all the anxiety about being new will soon go away and Ill be able to create a new network of friends and people to talk to

Welcome to myLot. I think my first emotion was frustration. I'd find a topic and respond to it then move on to another topic and want to go back to the last one and couldn't find it.
There's so much here to read. I love reading other people's discussions and starting discussions of my own.
I was really surprised at the number of people that sent me friends requests, then as I got acquainted with discussions some of the "old timers" posted I'd send them a friends request and be completely shocked that they accepted me!
Again welcome to myLot. There are a bunch of friendly people here. Settle in and make yourself at home. You're gonna like it!
