I can see how Diabetes could cause Clinical Depression. But was surprised to learn that Clinical Depression could cause Diabetes, although now it makes perfect sense to me. Did you know this? Read the article and tell me what you think.

Thanks for the information about the article. I was diagnosed with type II diabetes three years ago. There is absolutely no history of diabetes in my family, I'm not overweight, I exercise regularly (or used to) and I watch what I eat, so there didn't seem to be any reason why I should have developed diabetes.
For a while before I was diagnosed though I was feeling very stressed and depressed, so this could have been the cause, though my doctor says not. Now, I'm depressed and stressed because I have diabetes and have to be even more on my guard as to what I eat etc. It seems to me to be a bit of a vicious circle.

I am so sorry to hear of your stuggles. I know for a fact that stress and depression is a big enemy to our health. I have clinical depression myself, but not Diabetes, thank God. The solution for me is giving my problems to God and leaving them there. I have also learned the value of following my doctors advice.

I think it might be true since my father did go through depression before he was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes. My mother has it also. She has also had depression before she was diagnosed. I get blood work every three or four months. So far i am alright. I know I am at risk though from being overweight.

wow, this is something! thank you for sharing. i do not have diabetes but am very aware of what i eat to prevent getting it. diabetes runs in my family though, but so far i am not affected. i think prevention is definitely better than cure. thanks again.
