how to get a International drivers licence?

Since Im going away, i was planning to have a international drivers licence, in that way I can still drive abroad and use my skills in driving, but I dont have any idea on how to get the International drivers Lincence, people out there, please help me to find out how?

Call Your Local AA office-I Live in Northern Ireland and got mine through the Belfast Office.Take a look on their website,there may be some info there..You'll need a couple of passport photos,I think..
