hi all . my vcr which was 8 years old stopped working. it was eating up my vcr tapes ugg. With my old vcr i could tape programs and not stay on the same channels. i just got a brand new vcr/dvd combo and i thought it would be like my old one NO... you have to stay on the channel to tape your show. i don't want that. so i had to go over to dvr from comcast, it tapes 2 shows and you don't have to stay on the same channel. the comcast tech told me that i would need a vcr/dvd combo with a coax input and output screwed onto it, and a tuner in the model.plus a splitter then to route all the wires. i am not going to do this. i will keep the vcr'dvd combo which i bought and if a third program needs to be taped i'll stay on the channel to tape it that's all. anyway, i wanted to let you all know about this in case you are in the same shoes as i was. i learned alot about this.
