Hi my name is April and i am a stay at home mother to a eight month old little girl and a wife to a Marine.....What i and many women like me do is very hard yet so many people doubt and critisize us....my husband came home from work the other day and brought a friend who i havent met before my house was not spotless but not a wreck either....he looks at me and had the "stones" to ask so all u do is sit around all day???? it may not seem like much but i flipped...its hard enough raising a child but to do all the other things we do (laundry, dishes dinner, shopping) cmon we are not allowed to let it slide a little every once in awhile and to my surprize my husband looked at him and said you have no idea do u Do u think a magical fairy comes along and cooks me dinner changes diapers and makes every thing smell nice?.....and slammed the door gave me a big kiss and gave me the next weekend off....anyone else wanna share im all ears

What a jerk! Kudos to your husband for standing up for you and for knowing what you do. In regards to you and what you do, God Bless You! I had the fortune to stay home with mine for three yeas and I am so glad I did! I would like to see these idiots try for one day what you do everyday. Then add in the house work, and all of the extras. Keep up the good work and I thank you for making another great member of society!

Kudos to your husband! It seems to be a rare occasion when our spouses realize what we do as stay at home parents. It is even rarer for someone who has not had to stay at home with the kids to understand our lives. My husband has stated flat out to anyone and everyone who will listen that though he respects the fact that I stay home with our children, he would never be able to do what I do daily. He has told friends, relatives and co-workers who think that my home should be spotless, and I should look like June Cleaver to walk a mile in my shoes and then they can talk about it. I would never change what I do each day, I chose this life. However, those who criticize should first try it before opening their mouths to speak!

You are so right alot of people think that we still live in the sixties where the women and children are to be seen not heard and a womans job is to be "perfect" ty for ur comment
