it's raining hard yesterday and i see/hear some lightning/thunder that's why i came out and get an idea about this topic.
for me, i'm not afraid of it as long as it doesn't strike me lol whenever i saw some lightning or hear some thunder, i see some people especially the women, that they would put their hands on both ears or i would hear them say "sh!t" or they would even scream a bit because i think they were afraid of lightning/thunder.

Frankly speaking when I was a little girl I was extremely frighten of both lightning and thunder. The flash lightning made me shivering. When hearing the thundering sound I felt that the house was going to ruin and I would rush to mom and seek for shelter. My mom would then hug me tightly and consoled me by patting my back gently. Of course now I am not afraid of these anymore.

I love it! I look for it if it's near and wait after the lightning for the thunder. My kids cover thier ears but my wife and I are rather partial to it. the sound of the rain and nature itself can be euphoric.

I'm not afraid in the least bit about lightning or thunder.
But I am afraid of losing my hearing if lightning comes too close and it starts thundering too loud.
Actually, I kind of like lightning and thunder. It's a bit ironically calming, don't you think? Whenever i'm in a bad mood, or you got unexpressed, repressed or suppressed anger and rage, it's as if lightning and thunder know exactly how I feel.

I have really never been afraid of it. I actually really like thunder storms, so I get kind of excited if I hear thunder or see some lightening. I'm not sure why, but there's just something kind of exciting about it. I liked storms even when I was a kid. The only time they make me nervous is maybe if I have to be out driving in it and it's making it hard to see or drive.

No, I am not afraid of lightning or thunder. I am curious to know if anyone has been hit by lightning and what the experience was like (if they are still living to tell about it). Lightning can be VERY loud if it's close to your location so that can be annoying. But I would only be really scared if it was inches from me. Have a nice day.

When I was a toddler, I was taught by my parents to dance when there's thunder so I wont be afraid. It's what they called "thunder music". We have passed that tradition to my niece and I'm trying to teach my toddler the same thing now --though needs a bit of practice.
Rainy season has just started to kick in the country a few weeks ago. from my office seat, I come face to face with lightning itself to the point that I sometimes get out of my chair. Our building is glass on my side so I see everything outside.
i also hate it when I see the long trail of lightning when I'm in the car. I end up cowering down. LOL!
If only I could start dancing again when I hear thunder and see lightning.. but then I'd look like a lunatic too!! LOL!

Usually I am not. But once in a while a loud bang will catch me off guard. Other than that I am fine. I don't cover my ears. I might have as a kid. My daughter does that now. Hopefully she will out grow it.

No, I'm not afraid of lightning and thunder.
If I can see it flash I'm safe. If it were to hit me I doubt I would see it coming and it would be over so fast I doubt I would even know I was hit. If I woke-up then I would have to deal with it.
I'm not going to run out in the open and take a chance on becoming a human lightning rod though.
I do believe in coming indoors and avoiding tempting mother nature.

i am a woman/girl whatever, but i am not afraid of thunder/lightinng as you said :) not all of us are like this :) i am not afraid of thunder/lightning, but it is disturbing. especially if the thunder is very loud and the lightning is very bright and it happens very often. last week it rained almost every night and there were a lot of lightnings and it was very disturbing to my eyes.

I myself am afraid of lightning. I had an experience when i was younger and i got caught out in a bad storm and lightning hit something not far from me. I could feel the electric charge in the air,not to mention what it hit on the lake. ive been afraid of lightning ever since. it is not a force to be reckoned with. They say your chances of getting hit by lightning are extemely rare ,but it happens.

No it doesn't scare me as an adult though it can catch me unawares and make me jump. I used to get scared as a kid as I didn't understand what it was!

Yes I have to say that I really love the rain - it's very calming and peaceful. However, I do not enjoy thunder and lightening at all! I'm not used to seeing it and it does frighten me! But I could take the rain all the time just without all the rest!

I love the great big storms we get here in Florida. We get a lot of that really great lightening that sprawls out across the whole sky. I do get startled when the thunder shakes the floor but my first thought is if it's that close unplug the computers fast. But no real fear for anyone but the 4 year old in this house.
