How to improve the environment around us

I am a person likes good and clear environment, what make me disappointed is that some of the people around me seems show nothing concern about the enviroment, i just want to do some thing to influence the surrounding person, who can tell what shold i do and how should i do?

Are you living in a city or a village? You can keep atleast your surroundings clean. If you are staying in a city, then never dump waste on road side or any public place.Use paper / cloth bags instead of plastic carry bags. Take initiatives to keep your area clean with the help of neighbours. By doing such small things (there are more) we can help our society to keep a clear environment.
