I live in India where there are many languages.Our national languageis Hindi and we say DHANYAVAAD in it.In Urdu,another language which is mostly spoken by Muslims in India and Pakistan, they say SHUKRIYA. In Arabic language ,spoken in the Gulf countries like Oman, Saudi Arabia, Emirates, Iraq,etc they say SHUKRAN.Terima kasih.

Well, I live in India, and there are so many language spoken here. In Our nation language (it is my mother tongue also.) called "Dhanyavaad". Urdu is another most spoken language in India. In it is called "Shukriya". So I use both "Dhanyavaad", and "Shukriya", to say thank you.

In Tagalog one dialect spoken in the Philippines its "Salamat sa yo" or "Maraming salamat" meaning 'thank you very much'.

yes, abhishek and veejay are correct. in India it is dhanyabaad and shukriya. i am an Oriya, from orissa or kalinga as it might be known to you. the land where there is the jagannath temple which has the rath yatra or the car festival. we also tell dhanyabaad in oriya. car festival is about a couple of weeks away. watch it and feel the holiness. may lord jagannath bless you with success in your life.

Hie Curious, In Chinese language there is -'Kam Siah' in my mother tongue ( Hokkien )and other dialect is "Mnm Quay" in Cantonese ( hope I got that tone right)while in Mandarin is 'Xie Xie Nee'. And blend with the common usual magic words of 'Terima Kasih'& 'Thank You' Cheers,
