Facebook, Myspace, Orkut, Hi5, Friendster, Ibibo.......
Just imagine you are a chipmunk stuck in an incessant deluge, have nothing to do except for gazing at the ceiling and figuring out when it might fall on you.
We have gone past that era, I guess. With the invasion of Internet we are all the time connected to the world no matter what. you always have some virtual friend at some corner of the earth soothing your hurts or fighting your silence when the real friends are sleeping off the deluge. You are never bored! You are never alone!
I, myself have several friends in different sites who help me smile off my drudgeries whenever and wherever I require. On the whole I have had a pleasant experience with these forums whatsoever. Recently, when I had my account blocked in Facebook I never thought they would unblock it until they actually did! It felt great!
Do you have any such experience that help you hate or love a website. Pls, share your experiences in networking.
Thanks you

Apart from mylot I do not have me,bership in any other forum. Its only recently that I entered the big world of internet. And what a better way it could be other than myLot. Moreover, I hardly get time these days. Hope to catch up with you in other forums soon. It has always been a pleasure knowing you more. You are a gem.

No, I do not have any such experience, where my account was blocked and then reactivated on any social networking site. Frankly, speaking, except Mylot, I did not find any social networking site 'interesting'. I do not log in to other sites quite often. I only stick to mylot (or sometimes Yahoo answers) and whenever I find time, I come to mylot to express myself. I feel that I do not have much time to keep a tab on so many other social networking sites. As far as friends are concerned, I could only manage to make some good friends only on mylot, who carry more value/importance for me than my real life friends. I do not consider them 'virtual' friends, they are more like real friends to me and have entered my life as real friends do.

Candee, are you asking - "Have I met any of mylot friends in person (or say in real life)?"

It is really good that you can spare some time for other forums also and you have some friends over there also. It certainly widens your circle.
Many thanks for explaining the difference between 'virtual' and 'real'.

I was blocked once in Yuwie.. said I had "inappropriate content" lol. I have Myspace, Facebook, Hi5, Yuwie, Mylot...ugh.. I always join whatever site a friend asks me to. I have a lot of "virtual" friends and I have to say some are even better than "real" ones. How did you get blocked in facebook?? What on earth were you up to? No good I bet... lol

Hi michelle,
I know the sweet kind you are..Er are there in yahoo. Pls add me in myspace and facebook. We'll have fun.
In facebook I was messaging about my group to several friends. I was sending the same message obviously and this went to the verge of spamming according to the admin. oops, how did they think that way! I would never want to spam anyone!!
How are the kids doing this summer?

Connected to this topic, or somewhat related, i am thinking of starting a thread here, shortly.
Okay.. as far as virtual friends i stick only to mylot.. and to no other sites as you mentioned above..i don't like to spend time in these forums, that which suits to those who have a lot of time to spare..

Hi Mimpi, I have facebook and Myspace accounts but the only one I really use is myLot, I love it here and have built up many good friendships and yes they all have been supportive in times of trouble and also share the good times too just as real friends would and this is what I class them as, real friends rather than virtual. Ellie :D

I've got an account only on Orkut...when I wanted to get in touch with my school friends. It's nice to get in touch with old friends and I feel young again. But on and off we get busy with our lives and we don't keep in touch till someone decides 'enough is enough' and goes on a scrapping spree!lol

Yes, you are right. Everything goes down to the Big bad time factor. We hardly get much these days.
How are you doing?

I've resisted the temptation to join up with these so called social network sites. I believe they are sites where people intentionally go to stalk and bully other people, and I don't really want to be a part of that.
The only other site I visit on a regular basis (other than my lot) is a parenting site, and while some people might consider it to be a social site, it is actually more than that. It is a place where we can give and get advice on parenting issues and share our trials and tribulations of parenting.

Parenting site must be very interesting and you must have been benefited greatly by it. Great knowing this.
Could you pls give me the link?

I use AIM, MSN, and YIM. For me it seems a little hard to keep in contact with people I'll probably never see, but I do have a few people that I've talked to online for a few years. I think you really have to have a lot in common to be able to keep the same internet friend for more than a few months.

I agree to you there. Its just isn't about adding someone to your friend list and talking just like that to kill time. I never do that. I have some good friends with whom I chat.
Thanks.
