Should we learn basic first aid at school?

I think that is a very good idea, you never know when you need these skills. Also when doing you driving license you should have to do one course or at least a refresher...This is an essential life skill! You should have an idea what to do in an emergency situation..it could mean someones life or death

Yes, this is a good skill that we should be exposed to at a very young age. As young as three, tell children, "If you get hurt, wash it up, get a grownup to help you." Tell kids where to find help in their schools. By nine or ten they can learn bandaging skills and how to stop bleeding without endangering themselves. I think first aid could be part of Health Class or Science Class. In High School it could be an entire class by itself. In Driver's Ed, not only do they need the first aid class, but a defensive driving class as well. Having these skills is very empowering.

I think it would have been a great thing if we were taught that in school. It would have been very useful to alot of us. You never know when you will have to use it. I never learned the basics of first aid until I worked at one of my jobs and they trained me for it.
