Did you know that there is more to this fruit than a super slippery skin??? The word banana comes from the Arabic for finger, 'banan'. Bunches of bananas are known as hands. Bananas originally come from Asia-- Alexander the Great stumbled upon the fruit in India in 327BC. Banana plants grow up to 9m and look like tress. But did you know their trunks aren't woody, so they're the world's biggest herb! Bananas aren't always yellow- some are red! I have never sen a red banana. If you can't concentrate, eat a banana! The potassium- packed fruit makes you more alert. Bananas give out gases that make other fruit next to them ripen faster. HO HO!!!! Why are bananas never lonely? Because they hang around in bunches

I have heard that if there is any one food that is near perfect, that it is the banana. I know they're very rich in potassium, but I wonder what else it is that would give it such a high rating?

I love bananas, I didn't know there were red ones, I wonder if they taste the same..they are good for you and they are my favourite fruit but I can't eat too many as the potassium is not good with my high blood pressure medication...but I still sneak one every now and then...

Hey Anne, I didn't know so much about banana until I read your post here. It's really interesting to read. Now I know that banana can help me to concentrate. It's summer and examination time now. Maybe eating some bananas can help. When I was young, we had some banana trees in our village. I watched them to ripe. We also cut a banana trunk while we went to swimming. We used it as a boat. Those who could swim well sit in the front to guide those who could not swim that well. It's quite interesting.
