Okey, here whats bugging me... any opinions on this: Does teaching get really well paid??? Or is it like a calling like you needed to become a pastor or a priest just to serve your people in prayer (something like that)? Any thoughts on this???

In canada teachers do not make that much money. They start at about 38000, but there is a scale that teachers are paid on and depending on different things and qualifications that people have it determines what you are paid.

Well, here in WA state, it depends on what you are teaching, how much of a Degree you have, and what area you are teaching in, subject, etc. For a beginning teacher they do not pay much more than what I am making at the job I am at now. Actually, I feel that a lot of times teachers are one of the most underpaid, and most unappreciated jobs there are. Because most of the time you have to deal with the trouble makers, the cheaters, and people constantly making Fun of you, and not allowing you to get things done. At one time I wanted to be a School teacher, and thought it would have been a wonderful career to go in. I have been a Sunday School teacher, and seen some of the stressors a teacher has to go thru. For me, I cherish teachers and think if they can deal with the things of life this way now a days, most of them could do almost anything.

In cities in India yes. Of late there is a great employment boom and the young people are fond of taking up professional courses. We see more and more females are taking up jobs. As a foundation, the young people are studying hard for their competitive examinations and they are undergoing private tution. Hence the teachers after having taught at school for a fairly good salary at unviersity level, act as consultants or teachers in the evening colleges too and at private tuitions and earn more than double their salary. This opportunity is not available for those who are in villages and those who are towns with less population.

I guess it depends on the school one is working for. I am teaching in one of the universities here in our city. Honestly, I am not paid as much as my other people receive in the universities they are working for. But teaching is more than a job. It is a passion. Well, at least for me... I would have left my teaching job if I was only concerned about the salary I am receiving. I guess I love my job enough for me to forget all about the salary.
