Article on the Front Page

Someone here told me about ground report and I started submitting some articles to them. They really do pay as I got my payout last month. Not much because it's only based on page views, but better than nothing. I submitted a blurb last night about my brothers car wreck and they have it on the front page! It's not even a very good article so I don't know why they chose to put it on front but I hope it helps get me some extra page views! If you'd like to check it out just go to groundreport.com. Thanks, Angel

Congratulations sunnflr, that is really great. I have never heard of this site but I am going right now and check it out and read your articles. Do you get paid for page views from non members? I hope so, because I'd like to help you make a little bit of money on this site. Thanks for posting this. Good luck.

Thank you so much. I'm glad you found some of the articles to your liking. My friend is very happy with her lap band procedure. I'm sorry you can't have it done since you want to. I hope you can find something that works for you. I know how hard it is to lose weight. I fight the battle constantly.

Angel, I can see why your article was on the front page. It is really well written and informative. I did find all of your atricles interesting. I especially enjoyed the one about "If", which also happens to be one of my favoriet poems too. And I loved that some of your articles were interviews. The lap band interview was so interesting with lots of helpful information. I wish I qualified for this but have had colon surgery so they won't do it on me. Oh and it was interesting to note that we are from the same state. Pretty cool. Thanks again for the link and I'll check back on you from time to time. Good luck with your articles.

I just checked out your story. I think it is very well written. They probably put it on the front page because you are telling about your brother's accident and seatbelt safety without being preachy. You don't make safety the focus of the article. You conveys your thought, feelings and you also provide a photo that really brings it home for some people. I think this will get some good attention. I also like that it is short and sweet. Great job.

I know what you mean. Sometimes it doesn't take 400 words to get the point of the article across but you have to make it work to submit them. I'm still learning but I'm getting it all down!

Thank you, I'm glad you thought it was pretty good. It's actually the shortest article I've written. Most places want at least 400 words so I'm used to doing that or more.

Sometimes word counts are a problem for me. I like to write articles of substance and sometimes there is not enough there to meet their word count. I don't like adding "fluff" just to hit the word count because I feel it takes away from my articles. Your article was perfect. No problem with length at all.

That's great, Angel. I have my work on Triond and I put links to some of my articles in my email signature so everyone sees the links and can check them out. When I get a new story published (it's been awhile) I send an email to almost everyone I know so they can check them out. I wish I had time to write. My kids both play rep soccer so it's been pretty busy around here and I have had very little to write about, or time. I am working on something right now I hope to post on there soon. When I do, I will post a discussion on here along with the link. I've also posted links on Facebook. Anywhere I can get people to see my articles. Good luck!

Of course you can add me as a friend. My user name on Triond is the same, patgalca, however I can also be found under my pen name (which is my birth name) Mary Patricia Bird. Thanks for your support!

I hope you get more time to write soon. I never thought I would enjoy it as much as I do! Can I add you as a friend on here so I'll know when you do new stuff? Also, is your name the same on Triond so I can look you up there too. I write there also.

Thanks Pearl. I hope I get some more on the front page too, but since I don't really know why they chose that one I'm not sure it will happen again..lol.

I think maybe your article is on the front page because it is an original news story and has not appeared anywhere else. I have looked at the site and they want news stories but you can't copy them from other sites. I don't really understand what are you supposed to do. How can you find news to write about except by reading about it? Then it is not an original news story, just a rewritten one. I would be interested to know what your other articles were about. Did you have to promote them or do anything to get page views or do you just submit and hope for the best?

Thank you for explaining. I will have a look at your articles and they will give me a better idea. Then I can decide if I want to try submitting to the site.

I had not heard of groundreport.com until I read this article. So I jumped over, typed in Angel, and found your page. It wasn't on the front page, but I just finished reading the article you wrote about your brother's accident. Happy to hear he is fine after that terrible accident. What kind of articles are they looking for?

Yeah, it stayed on the front page til sometime that evening then they put something else up there. They take health articles, news, political stuff, and lifestyle articles...just anything really.

Yes it is. I haven't made much there, only 1.53 last month in the three weeks I had articles up. I won't know what I made this month until the first week of July, but it should be a little more. The more articles I post, the more I'll make each month. Good luck to you!

I prefer sites that pay you to write upfront...meaning prior to putting it on their site. AC does that. Hellium does not unless you enter a competition. The site you mention is new to me; but if they only pay by hits then no thank-you. Giving away free content is not for me thank-you.

I do AC also, although they usually don't pay upfront for my articles. I'm still learning all the keyword stuff. They have paid upfront for a few, but most I put there are for page views also. Ground report paid me 1.53 for two weeks last month..lol. The more articles I get on there the more I'll page from page views, and you can put articles that have been up a while somewhere else over there. I also use eHow which is page views. But, I do Demand Studios which pays 15.00 for each article also. That is much better!

Well, they may be a alittle sensationalistic that might be why the car wreck got on page 1. I will try this website though and see what I can get published on there. Thanks for the info.

Good luck to you. I don't know why they put in on the front page, but it was there until yesterday evening. Got me a few more page views than I would have got otherwise so all's good.
