Do you like to babysit?

Well, whether we like it or not, mothers are always in the position of being a baby sitter. Working mothers hire baby sitters but they still take care of their babies when they are home. I appreciate mothers who are hands on taking care of their babies than those mothers who hired baby sitters to take care of their babies even if they are home. I mean mothers who are not working? Well, of course most of them can afford to pay somebody to take care of their babies while they are just sitting pretty doing nothing. But I think the bonding of the child and mother is superb when the mother is the one taking care of them. Do you think so? Well, I am pretty sure of this. Can you share something?

I baby sat 3 kids, 7,8 and 11 years old. I was new to the country and it happen that there's a family who knew my husband and they need a baby sitter. I agreed to baby sit their kids - sometimes they come to our apartment, sometimes i go to their house. When we were in their house - i do more than just the baby sitting job. I cleaned their house because their house was just a mess. I cant stand the sight of a dirty kitchen and a sink with all the plates and pans and utensils all over the place. I helped the and coached the kids to make their rooms as their rooms are as tidy as a house after a hurricane. The boy who was 8 years old has tons of toys scattered all over his room he doesnt even have a space to put his feet on. I asked him why he has so many toys and he said "geene i am only 8 years old! i need to have a lot of toys! " yet even he has those toys he was still always bored. their parents never played with them and just give them thinking they can make it up to their kids by giving them toys instead of their time. The kids had a bad habit of always shouting at each other - and i mean always. They of course got it from their parents who shout at them or raise their voices all the time. I have to tell them all the time to calm down and talk to each other gently. I played with them because they wont hardly play any game if i wont play with them. We go to the park, play frisbee or play trampoline at the back of their house. I told them that in my country kids there dont have lots of toys but we are happy because we invent games. Everyday of my baby sitting is a stressful one. I told my self i wont be doing it again especially that they only pay me a very small amount of $125 a week for all three of them. (The mother said she cannot afford more than that). I think though that I made i difference in those kids - they told me i was the best baby sitter they ever had even i sent them to their rooms when they are bad or i made them clean their rooms, they never had a baby sitter before who talked with them and share stories with them and play with them.

oh!! That's a very good experience. Don't count the money that you get from that job!! just remember the things that you have done in their lives that they never forget until they will be old. These young kids need somebody who understands their need of love, attention, care and sympathy. I could tell you what? You really are a blessing in that kids lives.

Well I have been babysitting practically my whole life. I've always baby sat my little siblings and when I started college I started getting paid for it. So yeah I like babysitting because it's fun. Although I don't babysit anymore because I want to focus on my studies more and get another job that is different than babysitting. But I did have fun babysitting. Some parents need a babysitter because they do have to work and do other stuff and I can understand that.

Good for you. Am sure you love children. yes, kids are g=fun to be with but there are times too that they will give you head ache. This is why I appreciate people who can stand baby sitting. Yes, I can understand mothers who are hiring baby sitters because they are working. I for one have fulltime baby sitter at home because I have a 2 year old daughter but when I am home I must see to it that I have time for my baby, taking care of her during week ends and when I have days off.

I really wish I can stay with my baby the whole day, but I really need to work. As long as you love your baby, you'll always like to spend time with him/her. I always think mothers are really superb.

No, I love my kids, but I only want to play with yours while your around because if they start wanting something they need to ask you. I am not trying to be mean , but kids are very independent and you never know if your going to get stuck with one that isn't. I cant handle a clinging child. Go Play!

yes, there are mothers who only want to cuddle and play with their kids but when it comes to taking care of them like, feeding, bathing, toileting, changing diapers, etc. they entrust it to the baby sitter. It is sad that they don't even care to take care of their babies personally.
