I missed a week of work

So let me tell you the story. I was supposed to work this week, the nature of the business I am in is I can never be exactly sure when I will work, or how far I will have to travel. This was to be a fairly short trip, 114 miles. I was to leave for the hotel on Sunday. So Saturday night I went on a ghost hunt and my brakes started making scary noises. The next day I called up my boss and told him my problem. He told me to try to get my brakes fixed on Monday and to leave then and work through the rest of the week. This didn't seem like too much of a problem, so I did just that. It took all my money, but the brakes got fixed. So, later that evening I realized that I had better be heading out, so I left and went to a local gas (petrol) station. I went in, bought a few things and then when I walked out...flat tire. I drove my car over to the air pump and pumped it up and drove on home (I was like 2 miles from home). Since I was out of money I couldn't get the tire fixed till today (which I am about to go do). So do any of you have any humerus, tragic, or even vaguely interesting stories why you missed work?
