Reading and saving the planet

Hello, I love reading and easily get through a novel a week. I used to be really proud of all the books on my shelf but eventually got fed up with the dust and ran out of space when I had kids. Now I just give books I've read away or hand them in to charity shops. I swap them with friends too. I hate e books, can't do them. For the first time ever since leaving university, I joined the library. I am pleasantly surprised at the good choices. I hope this can in some way contribute to healing the planet, even a little. However I've mixed feelings as I suppose the writers need support through sales as well. What do you think?

Hi! I love reading books too. IVe always wanted a small library in my house but since I dont have a house on my own yet Im content in having my own little corner full of books. Ive always dreamed of having ym own library or work as an assitant in one of the libraries. Thats what I envy a bit in the other countries they have many many public libraries that offer summer jobs or even summer reading programs. We dont have that here and I thought that if I was to be an assistant I would love to work in a library. I can read books all day long. The kind of library that Ive alwayw wanted was Beast's library in his mansion from the movie Beauty and the Beast. All those shelves and rows of books from the floor to the ceiling!WOW! As for the writers' sales I guess paid2write above answered that pretty well. Have fun reading!^_^

Yes I remember Beast's library it's great. In the Uk I got a part-time library job while
I was doing my postgrad. It involved wheeling barrows of books around and putting them away. It was fun and well paid.
'Good luck
