I don't think it's a pretty safe device. I've got viruses in it before by inserting it in different computers and transferring data. Apparently the virus spreads too, to and fro.

Although we can use pen drive to store a large amount of things in it but it is not safe to use because when we download somethings that is detected by virus and when we opened the computer also will detected by the virus.Although it is not safe but many people like to use it especially people in nowadays.

Pen, flash, or USB drive are basically like hard disk or storage media. Those are just that a container so its contents determine if its safe or not. I is a good habit to scan then every time one insert it just like any removable media or drive. I would like to stress that if a drive came from other other PC then press SHIFT as you insert it, this is to prevent any autorun virus or programs to infect your system, then do a scan on the pen drive.

Pendrives/jumpdrives arent objects that contain viruses unless you put them on there. When you first buy a pendrive its like a flash drive, clean and safe. Once you start putting information thats infected on it however, and give it to another person, the virus will spread. Sometimes hackers bring a laptop with them and actually steal someone pendrive and put viruses on the drive. Otherwise from putting viruses on yourself or someone else putting viruses on drive, there is no other way for pendrives to spread viruses.

Virus,I'm very hate it.yes,it always will cause the virus in to the computer but we know that Pen drive is still very useful and convinent for us.So I think you should check whether there are some virus when you insert it into the computer.Maybe that will be safer.

yes indeed, pendrives can be carrier of viruses and an infect other computers.. the best thing to avoid viruses in pendrives is to have it scanned before opening it.. moreover get a good anti-virus software.. you can also avoid using your pendrive with computers having no anti-virus softwares.. me i use mcafee12in1 and clamxav in my pcs and mac..

Pen drive, or jump drive as I call it is no more dangerous than a cd and far less dangerous than the internet. Pen drives do not "breed" viruses. If there is a virus on it someone put it there. Just use caution. I have used pen drives for years and never spread a virus in this manner. I have good antivirus software and use it religiously. If you do the same a pen drive is perfectly safe. You would benefit more from staying off of the net then by scrapping your pen drive.
