what do you mean by cheating? in an exam? in a relationship? or in life in general? anyway, i think cheating happens in all these aspects because people often like to find an easy way out or an easy way to success without having to do the hard work behind it. i am a firm believer that things come back to you a hundred fold... with that in mind, i feel that we should just live our lives as morally as possible. and besides, getting something through cheating is not as sweet as getting it through hard work!

Because most cheats prosper. It's only the fraction who do it badly or to ridiculous degrees who get caught out.
Because sometimes it's simply irrational not to 'cheat'. If people see substantial personal gain and the risk is low, it takes some strong adherence to an abstract moral code to decline the opportunity to cheat.
