Depending where you are in he city. We also have water 24 hours becuase it is a nicer nieghborhood. There are many hoods here in mazatlan who are not as fortunate. One place I lived in centro Maz. only had h2o from about 12 midnight until 6 in the morning. And in the hot summer months with out air conditioning A shower is needed about 3 to 5 times a day. water is life.

There is no water scarcity here and we have 24 hours water supply. But in some other areas of my city they get water only a few hours a day.

I'm from a country with a very unusual water situation. Technically, Singapore is water scarce but if you lived in the country, you'd find that tap water is drinkable and seemingly abundent.
Although it's not very fashionable to praise governments for much these days, Singapore's government actually has quite a workable policy when it comes to water. Basically the nation has what we call "Four Taps'
a - Water from local reservoirs
b - Imported water from Malaysia - they sell us untreated water, we resell the treated stuff back to them.
c - Recycled water
d - Desalinated water - now that membrane technology is available, its cheaper to get the stuff from the sea.
Basically, the idea behind our water policy is that you have to find ways to make every drop of water count. As such, the water authority has been given a decent budget to invest in technology to make sure that we have enough water and we're constantly on the look out for new sources of water.
Water politics has also been a major issue between Singapore and Malaysia. Once in a while, Malaysia threatens to cut off our water supply. So, this has driven Singapore to try and look for new sources. We actually have former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahatir to thank - when he threatened to cut off our water supplies, our government managed to introduce NEWater, which is basically recycled water - the Malaysian threat made people glad to overcome the "YECH" factor they may have felt towards drinking the recycled stuff.

Hello, ramyashree! You are very fortunate so far availability of water is concerned.in my area we are short supply of water.of course i have a well to supplement.but the water of the well we are presently not utilising for drinking purpose as the water has been polluted in our locality.so we entirely depend on supply water which is supplied twice every day.but in the summer they supply water only once a day.sometimes it so happens that two to three days suplly goes off and we have to manage with much hardship.thanx.
