Is it worse to have no father or to have a father play with your emotions?

My friend never knew her father and to tell you the truth as she said to me
"I don't miss him or feel any emotions towards him. On the other hand, my cousin's mother and father seperated. Whenever he gets a new girlfriend, he pays no attention to them. It hurts them and makes them feel unwanted. So, my question is, is it better to have no father or a careless father?"

Much better to have no father. My son hung up the phone without even speaking to my ex on fathers day. Given the years of hanging around just to mess with his head, I didn't blame my son.
The deadbeat that leaves and never comes back is more honest than the ones that stick around just to screw with the kid's head.

But what about this when a careless father tries to give something to his son and if he gets failed, he thinks about getting normal.
No father means no father but when someone has a father who is actually very careless , there are chances that he gets normal and tries hard to setup his family.

A careless father is not the same as the one who hangs around just to cause misery.
