Hi there. When I was younger I was very devious - especially with my parents. I would lie about where I was going out and would also stir things up between my friends to be more popular. In short I was a really really horrible person. Whe I reached 16 something happened in my life and it made me sit back and look at the sort of person I had become and I made a life-changing decision to change. Ever since I have never lied to anyone and am always up front and honest about everything regardless of the consequences. I guess what I am trying to say is that I have done both - lied and honest and from my experience I would have to say that although being honest can make life miserable for both you and others, lying always has worse results and consciously you feel like a bad person. At least wioth honesty I know I am being true to myself all the time.

Absolutely yes, it is!!! You are a lot better off if you just tell the truth to start with. If you don't you have to start covering your lies with more lies and life just becomes a battle to remember who you told what lie to about what.
