Should we put discussions in order? Meaning if a discussion is only a short question (8 word or so) it shouldnt be under discussions? I have answered many emails to find they are quick questions needing only yes or no? That cant be called a discussion, I could spend hours posting this sort of thing. It becomes so boring if you cant think of a decent discussion dont post just answer the good posts? Well thats my moan and groan over and done with. Happy posting and make them good ones please?

Thats quite an interesting idea, and could find its uses, but if all the discussions with one liners were seperately catergorized then would anyone bother to look at them, follow them or participate in them ?
What you also have to remember is that sometimes these one line answers can act as a catalyst for opening and widening the discussion further.
Of course half the problem would be solved if people undestood that you get paid more by creating interesting topics and discussions and not just by quick posts.

Isnt it aginst the mylot law to create discussion needing just a yes or no answer?...

I agree with you. A discussion should have more details rather than just a one liner. I hope those people who did that are not thinking that they are making easy money by doing that since a one liner would just probably give them $0.01... Anyway, whatever their intentions are, I really hate to see all those one liner questions filling up the space at myLot and I just hope that those who do that would get tired soon and leave...

I have come to learn pretty much which discussions will eventually be deleted and just don't respond to them even if I can give my input because I'm wasting my time typing a response and then losing earnings on it later.

How about not answering the ones you cannot find an answer to. myLot encourages longer posts and pays for the more words. The discussions that you only reply yes or no you do not get paid or or get very little for.
I read all of my discussions that come in. I do not respond to all of my friends discussion, one reason is if I do not have anything nice to say, another reason is if I cannot think of anything to say at all, or if I or if alls I can say is yes or no.
If you look at the side of the box on the page where you write your response it says be descriptive as possible. If I cannot be as descriptive as possible I will not respond.
Now that I have talked around in circles have I answer your discussion?

Well, I can imagine that you feel better now.. I agree with you completely.. When you start a discussion and it is so short that it requires only a yes or a no, then it is not a discussion.. I do feel that if someone can't put forth enough effort to do the typing but only wants to make money, then I don't fool with them, I just delete.. If I am going to put my heart and sould in a response, you better believe the discussion had better be good.. Have a great evening..

Well if you sit and think about it if you are standing and talking to a person face to face sometime it is a short discussion and you just need a yes or no answer or nodding of the head or or. This is no different than sitting in fron of someone talking. Why punish those that don't express themselves in many words verses the ones that can go on and on about a topic. Some people are better at expressing themselves and or what they want to talk about then others. If someone that only types 8 word topic in before the person that has 20 or more words they should not be bumped down the list.

I am not out to punish anyone? I just think it is wasting my time having my email clogged up with junk posts thats my opinion! I want to spend quality time on this site chatting to friends who spend there time posting good discussions? Dont you? I have read lots of posts where some cannot express them selves very well and still I answer them as they are not asking for a yes or no answer? I am sorry if I have offended you? This post was not ment to hurt peoples fealings! Thanks

That is a good idea. I have run across that too. I had a friend that did that. She would post question after question about what's you favorite color, hair color, food, etc. It would fill up pages and I couldn't find my other friend's discussions. I finally had to delete her.

I really like that idea.
Sometimes, however, I do skip over the
discussions that only require yes or no answers
as they don't interest me.
But I do like anything that will more
easily organize all my discussions for quicker
posting. I'm not sure how to go about that,
but if you find out, please let me know!
Thanks!

In a perfect world we would be having multi-sentence, many-worded sentences, polysyllabic words to comprise the whole discussion and hopefully it would also be intelligible and intelligent. The good news is that it's not a perfect world and what comes out of people's heads are not uniform and always is surprising, both in their typicality and uniqueness. Cheers!!

I hate seeing the one liner discussions, but will admit that when I first started I was guilty of starting them. Now I have learned that the more content the better, and not only for more money. It's rewarding knowing that your opinion will be seen if you just post a nice lengthy discussion. If these things were categorized I am not sure if anyone would pay attention to them, I feel that it would be a waste for mylot. Have a Great day.

I have an incentive to work hard. I feel that having incentives gives you more of a ambition to start lengthy discussions and leave lengthy responses. Like I said earlier, I also just enjoy mylot. Have a Great day to you.

Well I could drag this out to make a long discussion out of it if you want..LOL..we could always use another discussion about just how much we can do it.
I don't like just answering yes or no..I usually ask them a question back so maybe they will get the hint thats what a discussion is!

Yes, I actually agree with you because discussions should have something to talk about so that people can actually gain more knowledge and not just for the sake of earning money do they need to have a post of discussion.
It would definitely be better to have meaningful discussions. This is not a site just to answer questions but also to disseminate certain information...o.o

I don't think the one line discussion should be allowed. I mean if the discussion is one line then how long could the answers be. I don't think it would make that good of a discussion. Know what I mean. It's not allowed for responses to be one word or so, so the discussion post should provoke our minds and make us really think about things.

Those types of discussions are hard to reply to and make it hard when searching for good discussions.

Short simple questions cannot usually be described as a discussion. "How much you make" or "Do you love drinking" seems fairly pointless topics to me. In fact I think that myLot expressly cautions against such things on the grounds that you run the risk of having the "discussion" deleted or not earning from it. There has been the odd occasion when I have come across something that I think doesn't really warrant half a dozen sentences to describe it, but usually it is a good idea to elaborate. Happy posting to you too.

gollywog I am with you. If a poster cannot be bothered to
take some time to think out a discussion do not cheat with
one liners that require no effort at all on anyone's part.
these are boring and will not get many responses either.
be innovative and come up with meaty discussions we can
discuss with you. This makes it so much more fun for both
poster and responder too.

It' better to get response then never get one.The first time I started a discussion ,no one respond to it.But just as you said ,only 8 words or so is not enough for a discussion or a response.Evertime I decided to answer a post ,I speak out all my opinoin about the discussion,as I know that no pain ,no gain.Hope everbody can spend a litter more time to deal with the discussion.
