belly dance

last week i bought a DVD on the net,it's about belly dance.i haven't did it before,but after a period of practice i found it very interesting . what i want to know is whether it's useful for loosing weight. if you have experience about it ,tell me something,thank u.

I think anything that requires movement would help in exercising thus eventually help in losing weight.
Belly dancing is a good way of exercising your abdominal muscles, so I think it's also a good way to make your abdomen firm. Plus, prolonged dancing causes us to sweat and increase our heartbeat thus also helps in exercising our heart.
So I guess, belly dancing plus healthy and good diet (not those who don't eat anymore) would lead to loss of weight.

My girlfriend bought also a dvd to learn belly dance and they bought some other to learn Hawaiian dance, I think that she quit to practicing because she didn't lost weight and with the Hawaiian dance she just got a wider arms, I don't know why ti didn't work with her, because I have heard those dance are really good for lose weight, something that rally work for my mom and made her to lost a lot of weight was just walk but not too slow, and without stop, she did it and she started to lost a lot of weight of course she change her diet too, eating more vegetables and chicken but not friend, just baked, it is funny that more people want to lost weight but I want to earn weight, because I am really thin, even when I eat a lot, I have just earned a few pounds when I was in the gym but since I didn't back I went back to my normal weight.

I have a 63 year old lady friend who I met again last November. She and I started to take wheatgrass as food supplement and found out that every time we get together which was aevery week, we were both losing weight in all the important places! But then she enrolled in bellydancing because she said she doesn't want the areas she lost weight in to sag and look flabby. Right now, 7 months later, she looks 10 years younger, more fit, with tight abs and a youthful look. So, did she lose weight with the bellydancing? yes? Did it firm her up? yes again. Try it!
