I love fresh veggies but an earlier trip to the grocery this spring had me gasping for air at the checkout counter. I decided I would do a garden this year but did not want to manage a huge one. I planted my favorite veggies in small groups and when I harvest items for dinner, I replace them with a seedlings of the same variety so that I can keep a continual supply of them growing throughout the season. I have found this to be an easy and very cost effective method for gardening and plan to repeat it next year. Is anyone else out there gardening in this manner, if so, please share your tips with me.

Not to brag but I am SO proud of myself. This year I decided to plant my own herbal and tomato garden. I am SO glad I did.

Way to go and how about I do the bragging for you... lol I find gardening relaxing when it is not too big to manage without stress. I love fresh herb and have a small window box with my favorite herbs in them.

It sounds like you have a good garden going there. I never thought of planting more as the year goes on. I will try it in my garden. Thanks for the tip. I have my first round of radishes coming up now ( I did know about doing the seeds for them in succession ) and am proud of my garden this year so far. Lots of hot peppers and herbs ready too.

It depends on what you're growing... I plant radishes every couple of weeks so I have them all summer, but things like squash and corn take too long to mature so they're planted all at once. I will can, freeze or dehydrate vegetables that are ready all at once.
