i think the more and bigger calamities that we are experiencing right now are caused by the continuing destruction of our mother earth. because of global warming, there are more earthquakes, floods and typhoons than before. unless we don't take any action to help solve the continuing problem of global warming there will be more natural disasters to come? are the next generation will still be safe to live in this world? what can you do to help save this world? please take action now before it's too late...

I recycle and find new uses for old items rather than taking them to the dump. I use energy efficient appliances and light bulbs and make a weekly trip to town rather than daily ones. It's not much but I like to think that I am doing something good for the world in my own small way.

Well I suppose the first and foremost things we do is to source alternate energy for our computers. This is a huge consumption on a daily basis globally. I plan to use solar power for my PC and allied appliances. It will cost me some 500 US$ and I am saving for it. Regarding using things to its optimum usability I always do it for reasons like un-employment and inflation, Not Global warming. These are things that should come naturally. Mahatma Gandhi once lamented "Mother earth has enough for everyones need but not for greed". There are sites where you can contribute to the cause of fighting global warming by funding NGO's heavily from the money they receive. So be part of those. As many the better. One such to name would be http://www.freehoroscope.co.cc ( Please check the link. Copy and paste the link in your address Bar.)

I use a rainwater tank and im trying to by a solar powered battery recharger. I think rainwater should be used to toilets because for every toilet flush we make is approximately 4L of drinking water gone. Why should toilet water use the same water that we use to drink? I mean, its not like we drink out of our toilets or anything.

These are more practical steps towards fighting global warming successfully. I use pond that is our own and use its water for our daily usage. It helps in conserving ground water also. Its 5000 square feet and also has fishes in it. Its not dirty but clean so we wash our car with the water , use in toilets etc and use corporation water for drinking. We offer free water to firefighters when they are fighting nearby blazes.

One thing we could do would be to shut off the electricity to Al Gore's house! I hear he uses 19 times the electricity of the average American household!
Otherwise, we have changed out our lightbulbs to mre energy efficent ones, placed a special insulative covering around our hot water heater, changed out our appliances for energy efficient ones, changed our whole air conditioning unit for a newer and more energy efficient one..use the electricty less and turn out unneddes lights, we recycle everything we can here, and have sealed/calked up any air leaks we have found in our home! Our energy bill has drooped SIGNIFICANTLY!!! (even have changed the shower heads for ones that use less water!)
Of course..if you are only beginning, you have to go slow as you can afford and as things may break down..then replace them. One lightbulb at a tme, etc..one appliance at a time! But over time, it pays off!
We drive alot less. (And that is good, with the gas prices!) Less carbon tossed into the air.
The next time our roof needs to be replaced, ia a year or so, we plan to install solar panels for our home electricity!
We are on a roll!

Governments should provide subsidies to solar panels. They costs so much. Instead of wasting money on seminars, conferences etc on Global warming if they subsidizes the solar panels so many more homes world wide could start using it. In India its particularly costly. Governments are not really serious about promoting alternate energy.

i think in my own little way...i can help stop global warming through proper garbage disposal..and also not throw my garbage anywhere i wanted..because garbage is a very cruel enemy that destroys the beauty of nature..and it does not only destroys mother earth..it also destroys us little by little...giving so many diseases that will cause us to suffer...

Global warming is a myth and is a device that the government uses to regulate what you can do and to add additional taxes to thier banks. The planet will be fine no matter what we do. The only thing we will destroy is outselves. The weather on this planet is cyclical. It has been hotter before and cooler before. Nothing we are doing is changing this. Don't believe the hype. Conserve because it saves you money and leaves more to go around. Don't conserve based on an outright lie.

I think this problem must cause attention ,it's not only the leader, but also the citizen .Last month,a large earthquake took place in sichuan province of china ,many people lose family, everyone knows the main reason of earthquake is moving of crust ,but it will remind the people .All of the human live in one world ,first we should love the world, attention the world ,finally the mother earth could reduce different hurting. So we must take action to protect the world , some measures should put into operation, for example : growing more trees ?reducing industry pollution, the use of environmental technology and so on . The problem of global warming needs everyone's effort.

Global warming is a myth. Without humans around the earth would be just fine. That being said, we should take care of the earth for our own sake.

It takes collective efforts from a lot parties for us to stop global warming. I think it's hard considering the fact that everyone have their personal problems and they will put that first. it takes a lot of awareness and it is hard to do. Maybe someone with a lot of power can do something. Maybe reward should be given for efforts from the people to prevent global warming. Honestly, money drives people but only the government and the wealthy people could afford to provide those. MONEY is the answer!!

To be honest, I am getting a bit tired of all the global warming talk. Not that I don't believe that a lot of things are hurting the environment, but I find it quite funny that all these "green" products cost so much more. I think right now being "green" is just another label companies are using to raise the prices on their products.
I remember hearing that all the open fires still used across the world by many nations and groups to cook food and create heat (because they aren't technologically enough advanced) do more to hurt the environment than anything else. If that really is true, than maybe our focus is in the wrong place.
