Saving on Grocery Bills

My last trip to the store I received $170.00 for $120.00 and I was quite pleased with the savings. Between using my store discount card and double coupons I saved 50.21 on my grocery bill and recently started paying with a cash back credit card too so that I can get an additional 5% savings on my groceries. If you use the credit card method though go right home and pay it off to avoid charges. Do you have any grocery saving tips to share? I'd love to hear about them.

We try to shop the deals and specials when we can. Every time the store does the buy one get one free meat deals, we buy our limit. Last time they did that, we bought a very large package of lean porkchops that cost over $20 and got one for $18 for free! That's really smart shopping.

Do wholesale shopping or join a regular shopping program at the grocery store. Wholesale shopping cuts the expenses to a great extent. If you do not require food in large quantities, share it with your friends and consider shopping. I have more tips for you too. I stockpile. Instead of buying canned veggies every week, I wait for a really good deal, find coupons for them, and then buy a whole bunch of them to last about a year. I have everything stockpiled from toilet paper, to salad dressing, to meats. I have not gone grocery shopping in about 5 months now, and when I do its only because there is a great sale and I want to add something to my stockpile!

We don't have any stores around here that do double coupons.. it really bugs me. Good job on your savings!
