my neigbhour is a thief!

what do you think i should do to my neighbour hes been stealing stuff from my house like bicyle parts and my levi's jeans should i report to the police or bash him up or bash him up first then send to the police?

I think you should prepare a trap to him like installing a CCTV as a prove before you pass it to police.
