Kapil's men (World Cup, 1983) or Dhoni's boys (t20 cup)????

25 years ago Kapil Dev led Team India won its very first Cricket World cup. Indians defeated the mighty West Indians in the final at Lord's. It was indeed the most remarkable victory in Indian Cricketing History.
Another famous and remarkable victory in Indian Cricketing History was made when MS Dhoni's team conquered the inaugural T20 cup. Nobody has expected that kind of performance from India.
So in your view which is the best victory in Indian Cricket History from the above and why?
In my view victory of 1983 was the best because Team India defeated the best to get the world cup. And after that win rise of cricket was enormous. If Kapil's men haven't won that Cricket won't be as popular as it is today.

I agree with you. Our 1983 Prudential World Cup is the most important title win in indian cricket history. Even if we win the next time I guess we cannot forget the first win.
I mean we were a team just to make numbers in 1983, even the team also felt the same way. It shows that if you believe in yourself you can do it.
And so did Dhoni and his dudes at the T20 world cup. he triumph at T20 is a good boost to younger generation who have not seen the great monumental achievements by an Indian team.

It takes a champion to takes down a champion. It also takes event like this for citizens to love their country and becomes active in that particular sport. Well I can only encourage Dhoni and the existing India Team members to play the game they love and not for the money. Money has been the demised of the West Indies Team. It is costing the Australia Team to lose fans. So they should always remember that it is the game they love and not the money.

25 years back won the world cup first time led from kapil.1983 world cup final IND vs WI. 2007 t20 victory from indian young boys lead from dhoni.2007 best performance of bad and bowl............

obviously kapils men...it is one of the greatest upsets in history of cricket.WI were kings then
as far as t20 wc goes..luck was on our side i should say..yet a spectacular effort but not as good as 1983

In my view too, 1983 world cup is the greatest win of all our wins. Our win in 1983 made India proud in the world cricket. Due to that win now indian cricket is much more famous an now by taking inspiration from them dhoni's men won the 20-20 world cup. Hope India win the world cup 2011.
