Bats and global warming

Hello Friends
I have this idea that by placing
batboxes if you are not lucky enough to have
caves in the cliffs in your area and letting them
naturally take care of the mosquitos,flies,etc
and not having to use the electric zapper or
harmful poison pesticides that our small friends
the bat would help us with our global warming problem.
I just read that a single brown bat eats about 600
mosquitos a night...Now I want you to think of
having 600 mosquitos bite you in one night!
I'm scratching myself silly at the thought!
Thank you small friend!
Poor bats got a bad image from movies!

We have bats. I have not had a mosquito bite in years. Sometimes the bats got in the house, not a good thing but overall they are beneficial.

My feelings for bats and yours differ my friend. When we moved into this house there were so many bats in it. To this day I have blocked off my back porch as they seem to get in there and I can't get rid of them. So you can see I have lots of bats around my house both inside and out. Thankfully not any flying around anymore. However I still have tons of misquitos around and flies. We were just outside a while ago and we all got eaten up. I think it is because of all the water that has been standing around in so many areas. I respect that you like the bats and hope it works for you and if I had a way I would send mine to you*L* I really do not like bats.

I remember back in the old days when bouffant hair do's were all the rage a bat got into our home and I was screaming like a banshee as I remembered the old wives tale that they nested in your hair. My husband managed to get it out the window!

I don';t know a whole lot about bats but I bet they do help to control some insects we have around the areas. I know alot of people have a bad image of bats from the movies they have seen too. We have a bat that likes to hang around our home and sleep on top of our guttering downspout. We just leave it be. I cannot stand bugs. We do have a zapper but hardly ever use it. I have tried sprays but they do not keep bugs away either.
