Gates will donate all the money he owns?

I heard that Gate would donate all the money to charity after his death,with nothing to his posterities.
So great a man. i think this is the differenc between American and Chinese.
if you are an American ,will you do that?

If I have any money when I die it will go to my children if they are in need but if they have great jobs then it will go to charity. We already donate a lot to the local homeless shelters along with our time. I think it is important for our children to learn to help others. So what would you do since you said "I think this is the difference between American and Chinese."?

the difference indeed exists.
In China ,there are also many many rich people ,they don't seem to like to donate money the poor, even in the huge Earthquake in Sichuan few days ago, they did bad.
they like use the money to buy the luxury cars ,the most big houses,private planes, and dating beautiful actresses. even worse, they like to spend the money on women very much.
why our Chinese rich people can't do such things as Gates does.
and people in Hongkong,who are also ethnic Chinese, they do much better than us.

Surely, the Gateses made sure their children can take care of their needs before they decided to leave everything to their foundation so goo works can continue. Surely this is needed all over the world, but I deeply wish, in the US, at least, more and more people would emulate these actions.
Many people feel they can't afford to give. For the sake of our minds and our souls, we can't afford not to give all we can to make the world a better place!
