whats your take on religion?

Religions are not scams. eligions are a way to control people. If u are admnistrating a large group of people of varied interests.. u have to have something that connects them all .. something that binds them together. Christianity was formed to help stabilize a falling Roman empire .. and purification crusades were carried out to drive out other religions from the roman empire. Similarly with other religions .. Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam .. all help us unite. No religion can claim that they bring you nearer to god .. they just give you ways with which u are able to live in an atmosphere where u will feel closer to god. As for paying.. you dont 'have' to pay .. it is supposed u should because everyone else does it .. if u can follow christianity in your home with a bible and a few hours of daily/weekly prayer with your family, u wouldnt have to pay a thing. And money u pay in churches dont go into pockets of some people who are doin it to earn profits ... running a church is a costly affair .. As for me .. no im not a christian .. im just a learner who likes learning about formation and growth of religions .. and as for my religious beliefs,im more of a scpetic .. a questioning wanderer ... and more importnantly, an agnostic right now.
