Traveling with your pet

I live in the U.S. and am planning to take a road trip through Central America, and want to take my dog along instead of leaving her in a kennel for that long. Does anyone have any advice on what problems I might encounter?

I think it would be a good idea to contact a local travel agent and ask them what types of problems you might encounter, and if there are any shots in particular that your dog might need before going. I would make sure that you carry a copy of all current shots, and you might want to have your dog micro-chipped, if it's not. I have always traveled with my dog along, however, I have not taken her out of the country before.
