My 15 year old Greyhound 'Lady' has passed away this previous month. Buying her and saving her from a mean dog racer is one of if not the earliest memories that i have. We had her put to sleep beacause of her old mind. a couple years ago she had fallen into a pool when we had gone on vacation. her hind legs were always shaky from that moment on. then starting three months ago she had problems in walking and dragged her left hind leg behind her. we took her to a vet and he prescribed a medicine that would mae her move better but have an added affect on her brain maing most reactions slower. because of that my parents decided to have her put to sleep. its beena while and i am starting to feel ok again but with a stab of pain i remember that our 'anaversery' (the day we got her) was coming up soon. the second of july..

I am truly sorry about the loss of Lady. I bet she was a terrific dog. But it does sound like you gave her a great life and that's the important thing. I worked with this woman who told me that she couldn't stand having dogs because they would die before she did and she didn't want to have to deal with it. The only thing I could think of in response was that she was missing out on a great adventure that only a dog could provide. Anyway, I bet Lady gave you some really great memories and stories to tell. Don't ever forget her. Hang in there and take care.

thank you brother (or sister) for those insightful words. i shall try my hardest to overcome this hardship and strive for the day when the memories and not misery remain.

My two pomeranians Puff & Talitha - I miss my babies, I had them for 14 years for Talitha, the black dog and 15 years for the reddish brown one Puff. They were the best little doggies ever!!
I am so sorry for your loss. I have gone through this and it may take awhile but the pain does ease. I can't say it goes away though because I will always miss my two pomeranian "babies" that I'd had, one for 14 years and one for 15 years. I feel like I didnt' have long enough with them. I would guess that maybe you feel similar to that.

thats exactly how i feel. but you must have felt worse to lose two loved ones. I just hope that time will ease the pain yet not make me forget her altogether.

I'm very sorry for your loss, but it sounds like she had a great life and you took very good care of her. It's unfortunate our dear pets never live as long as we do. Just try to remember all the good times you had with her.

man, why did we have to let lady go, i miss her too i miss her alot. why couldnt we have atleast a couple of months left with her?its so sad.i remember when chris and i would run with her when she was running around the yard. we were never able to keep up though.she was just too fast, but for the past four years she wouldn't runand i remember when she fell in the pool, i jumped in after her. when she got out she was bleeding. of course you wouldnt know that because you were in tha house doing who knows what! i love and miss you Lady
