Have you ever found old friends through Internet?

I have lots of internet friends and though i've never met them in real life, it's always nice to know that you can have friends here at mylot and other places when it seems like you don't have any friends anywhere else. I reconnected with a lot of old friends on sites like myspace but they are still distant, even if they are my friends online. That is why I like mylot and my blogs that I run is because of all the interaction and discussions :)

Hi. Yes I have found a few in last few months on the internet. The best place to meet people online are definitely the networking sites like "Orkut" and "Myspace". I have always been in search of my old friends on the net and I am happy that I have found some of them.

I've found loads of them. I'm a retired Marine, having served more than 21 years. I'm a member of a website just for Marines and have 'met' many of the people I served with over the years. I found someone I served with 32 years ago - we were young Sgts together!

I've found a lot of old friends on Facebook and Friends Reunited. It's amazing, i'm now back in contact with people I never thought I would ever see again. The internet really is a remarkably useful tool. Interestingly, i'm now also speaking regularly to people I didn't interact with that much when we were at school together. This week i've also been speaking to a girl I used to dance with over a decade ago. She was under the age of ten at the time so I was sure she would never remember me. It's really interesting to see how much people and their lives have changed after so long.

I have found a couple of old friends through the internet. I searched myspace for some friends and was very happy, but surprised it was so easy. It was even more surprising to know that they were still in the same state. I haven't found any relatives, but it's nice to keep in touch with friends.

i met my freind jake on msn i hadent talked to him since we were kids i whent in some chat room and i started talking to him he sounded filmaure then he told a story that just happened to be about me and him getting into trubble and i said hay is this jake ***** & he said yes how did you know and i said it richie novil so we talked for a wile turns out he still lives in ohio

I moved a lot since I'm little. Surprisingly I found most of my friends through the internet (Friendster). I can't believe how we changed so much but still recognize each other. Must be my name. =P We used to be little dork when we in primary school but now we wear makeup and we look very different. It is very sentimental for me since I have loads of friends.

yes, yes, and yes! I actually reconnected with my old best friend who had moved away when we were a lot younger - she found me through myspace. It was awesome!

Years ago I went searching for my sister's godmother. The godparents had been a very dear and special friends to our family. They had been from England and the godmother had no idea what to do for Thanksgiving as in England they don't celebrate that. They had their first Thanksgiving with us. Years later the parents split up and the godmother went back to England. I was able to track down her son. Seems as if he had stayed in the United States and now then had a family of his own, but his mother had passed away just months before I had found him. He lived in Minnesota and we lived in Maryland. When he company sent him to Maryland for a seminar we all got together to talk about the old times. His sister had gone to England with her mom, but the son gave us her email and we all started sending e-mails back and forth to each other. We still do. The internet can be a happy place when you really know how to do a search. DCMerkle

Yes I have, its from alumni dot com, I was actually introduced to the site by a former officemate. So I signed up for it, and then a former highschool classmate emailed me saying that she found me in alumni. This was great, we actually never thought that the site could be of use to any one. lol But we were glad to find each other. We are still in contact although its through emails only because she already migrated to another country. We even found some more classmates through that site. I have another friend who found some of our other friends through friendster. These Im personally in contact with, because they are still living in the country.

I found an old school friend through Friends Reunited but I'm still searching for a college friend in England and a penfriend in Georgia USA

Yep Yep, I have met a few people fom my passed on facebook, couldn't believe my luck. I just typed in random names, I was curious about from school. I typed in their names and bingo, they were on their . What a total shock it was, I am very pleased with my results. Thanks B

Yes I found a lot of friends through the use of the internet. As a matter of fact I was able to reconnect with my High School buddies from 20 years ago. We now have an e-group and have since been meeting occasionally.

actually, my bestfriend from HS found me. I was also looking for her Friendster account, but cuoldn't search it. I was surprised to see her friend request, and comment! It was under a psuedoname..no wonder i couldn't serach it... We haven't seen each other for nearly 6 years! I missed all our fun times together. It feels so great knowing your friends remember you even when it's quite a long time ago.

YUP!i found a lot. my former classmates when i was still in my elementary years. and some former neighbors.

Yes I have actually found a few high school friend and have reconnected with them online. I know it is hard with everyone now a days been so busy with work and family life. The internet has really made so many things quite more easier to manage. I like being able to keep in touch with even family online where ever they may be on this planet of ours. It really is an amazing thing because without it I think wow I would never get to connect with these people.

Hello, When I joined a site called Myspace it was like a blast from my past .Mostly ,all my old friends had a page and we made contact . I have even seen a few of them and we have stayed in touch. It is always nice when you find someone you were looking for or missed.

Yes. Through the internet, I found my elementary friends whom I thought I couldn't meet again. I was very happy when I found them. I was loking for them on Friendster through their full names. Luckily I still remember their full names despitethe fact that I haven't heard from them in 9 years. When I found them, I immediately send them a friend request. Some accepted my request while other didn't.

Yeah I have found classmates from college through friendster. Most of them have accounts there so that's where I can find most of my old classmates. Some of them are even surprised I still remember them. Lol.

with the help of internet i have found my old fiends of my school life after 12years when i met him online i was very happy on that day and we shared our photos.
