Stimulus Tax rebates...what is up with that?

I got a postcard saying that I would receive mine on the 20th of this month...not here yet!!! Then I know of somebody who got his, it was supposed to be 600 dollars and it was delivered at $475. He says they took taxes out...I didn't think that this money could be taxed! Why was his check less than what he thought? ALSO...I thought that most people would just get 300 dollars, not that it would do much good with the increased costs of not only gas but groceries, maybe the government should consider just reducing taxes all together! Now...that would be stimluting to the economy! What are your thoughts?

well,i got mine days after the letter said i would. i heard that they borrowed the money from china to pay us, now isn't that a crock. i haven't heard anybody gettin $475, don't know what that's all about. they took no taxes out of ming. i tell u our goverment is in a stinking mess . don't see things getting any better. they just go from bad to worse.hope u get yours soon.

I can only see a poor economy and disgruntled Americans in the very near future. If our government doesn't get up off of their duff, forfeit some of their "perks" and start working FOR THE PEOPLE like our constitution says, we might as well hang it up as a nation.

WAAHOO! I just got mine today! $900....$300 for each of the kids and then myself! I too have already spent it! Wish it could'a been for something fun though...I had new tires and the AC on my car worked on. Oh well, at least I will be cool and safe...if I can afford the gas...hehehe

My AMERICAN husband and I did not get a stimulus check because I am not an American, and do not hae a social security number. We didn't think this was fair at all. As an American, he should hae atleast gotten one.

You are right...that is not fair. If hour husband filed a tax return for 2007 he should be entitled to a check. Is he relying on his tax preparer or Has he called the IRS to confirm this?

We got ours, but the governement took it and applied it to the student loans. So we didn't get to use ours. Bummer! I needed some more stuff in my house. Tee hee!
