When I was in high school, I didn't really mind our uniforms. It wa blue and I love blue. I think it was a given that we had to wear uniforms then so I couldn't really do anything about it. I was looking forward to college where I could where anything I want to school. Unfortunately, I wento to a university where it was required to wear a uniform. Although as time passes by, I didn't hate it as much because some of my friends kept on complaining that they have nothing more to wear to school and it was sometimes a hassle for them look and match, attires to wear to school. ~

Hello dear youless. I have never had a school uniform of mine during the days when I was at school as we didn't have school uniform then. But whenever we had some school activities, we were asked to wear white shirts in summer and autumn, except winter.
Nowadays students are asked to wear school uniforms. I think that it is a good idea. You know why I think so? Well, with everyone wearing the same clothes, the students will not have to think more of what clothes they have to wear and will not distract their attention to study. Or they are more concentrated on their school work...

Hello youless. Thanks so much for the best response. In winter the students are allowed to wear their own thick clothes, as they are not warm enough for students.

since i wa a toodler up to college i have school uniform. i think it is more nice to have school uniforms so you can say that you are still a student. people will regognize what school do you go to. it is easy to see if you are a college or a high school student. and is saves me more from clothes if i wear unifrom than to wear something that is my usual clothes

more colleges now use uniform here for if you are a student and you are in your uniform you have discounts on transportation like bus and jeepneys. so it is much okay if you go to a college with uniform. they only give discounts if you are wearing uniform.

We feel exactly just the same. I dislike my school uniform too. And I would prefer other school's school uniforms than ours. If only I could redesign it, it was just not exactly my type or my style. It's also not comfortable to wear. If I had to choose, I would prefer wearing my own clothes than that uniform.

I loved my school Uniform. I used to hate it, but as i reached Junior high, i started liking it. I didnt hate the uniform earlier, i just hated that i 'had' to wear it everyday, no matter what. But later i realized, its not so bad after all. It looked really nice. Dark Gey trousers, Black shoes and white shirt (whose sleeve i rolled up coz i liked it how it looked that way) ..
Strange as it may sound, i am in college now, but i miss my school uniform. And i hope college starts a uniform soon .. but only if it looked as good as my school uniform :P. (many fellow students call me traitors for this).
Have a nice day ;) ..

Our school colours were fairly basic and quite common I think. Black trousers/skirts with white shirts and black/red tie. I didn't mind it to be honest. When I was in my last couple of years they introduced polo shirts and jumpers with the school logo on as well which were quite nice.
The PE kit was a different story though! Black knicker shorts underneath a black pleated skirt with a red polo shirt (the colour was really nice but they itched like mad!) - ugh!

hello youless,
when i was in pre-school i like the design and color of my school uniform, then when I was in grade school it was better that other school and I kinda like it so its also fine, then when I was in high school I kinda don't like it especially the style and the other school's uniforms are much better.
And now that im in college this is the WORST uniform I ever had!
In the university I go to our uniform depends on what college/faculty we are in and since that im in the college of engineering most students there are boys thats why the girls also wear pants and not skirts. And i kinda dont like it especially the colors. The top is grey and the pants is black so overall we look like a elevator operator inside the malls..hahaha...lol..or a manager in a fast food

Ha..ha.. the green uniform made you to feel that you are a tortoise.. you must have scolded your school head for selecting that color.. and grrr... i was compelled to wear.. Khakki (light brown) pants and White shirts..as uniform.. Khakki pants i don't like at all...
Take care friend.

you're funny. i don't think your teachers thought they were teaching tortoises lol... yes, my school uniform also looked old fashioned. in senior high school, it's grey and white, god! and to make it worse, the grey and white is our national standard of uniform for senior high school, it means all senior high school students used it anyway .

It's funny because the whole time I was in school during my elementary, high school and university years the uniforms of the schools I was in were almost the same: dark blue skirt and white blouse. The difference just had something to do with the blouse. I was okay with it the whole time.

I really don't feel like wearing uniforms though our uniform at Dominican is quite good. School uniforms limits our fashion urge and that makes me feel uncomfortable wearing one.

OH, did you have to ask. I hated my school uniform.
It was navy with white collar.
We couldn't wear pants, only skirts.
It was not good looking at all....

I kind of hated my uniform when I was in elementary, specifically the one I had when I was in 3rd to 6th grade. It was a blue jumper like skirt and white collared short sleeves. I used to think we were like maids or something. Plus it didn't look like a uniform to me cos there were different shades of blue (except light ones) and the cloth were also different. I think it would be least distasteful if the uniform was really a uniform. Same length, same shades and same cloth material.
My uniform in high school was a little favorite of mine. It was black and white, checkered skirt (2 inches below the knee), white collared short sleeve blouse and a black and white checkered tie. I always thought it look quite classy compared to other high schools'. I'm so biased. Anyway, the only thing I don't like about the uniforms in high school were the P.E. uniforms. It's too thick and itchy.

i have fought against uniforms in our schools...just don't believe in them. Our kids our striving to develop their own individuality and are told to be themselves and uniforms make them like each other so that they don't have to deal with being different. Uniforms should signify difference as in cop, doctor etc. but as kids are growing they need to learn to be who they are before they can decide what uniform is for them. I understand restrictions....no bellyshirts, bathing suits etc. but let them figure it out on their own with guidance.

I loved my school uniform. It was different than the other school uniforms. Even if you see a student 20 meters away form you, you can easily distinguish them to come from our school. Unlike other uniforms that you have to look closely at the seals on their pockets, or the ties on their necks, ours are very distinguuishable. And ours really covered us up, though we sometimes complain that it's very hot. anyway, I'm proud of my uniform.

I like our school uniform. It is a checkered skirt and a white blouse with a tie. The tie is the same as the skirt. The uniforn can only be bought at school since the cloth is not avaliable at the local markets. Well, I looked like a socialite even though I am broke when I was a kid. LOL Take care =)
