I have a desktop, which is my b/f's old computer. he gave it to me when he got his laptop. I like my desktop, and i know that his laptop, you can lie down while working on the computer, but, I just like the desktop better than a laptop b/c the battery. the battery on my b/f laptop gets low easily and than he has to plug it up. which do you have? And which do you prefer to have better?

We have 3 computers and 1 laptop and we have a small house, but everyone has a TV and a computer.. So much for technology.. I prefer the desktop computer as this is what I have always used and I am a creature of habit..

Obviously, I would prefer a desktop to a laptop. I have been using a desktop, from the time computers have been introduced in our country and I feel quite comfortable with the desktop. Somehow, I don't find a laptop to be as comfortable as desktop.

We have 4 computers in use in our house...I like to use desktop computers. I get more power out of them and thats what I need for gaming. My sister has her own laptop, which she uses for internet only, She talks to friends and writes at some boards. My dad has laptop too, uses it for work. He bought laptop so he can carry it with him if hes busy and has to do something else also. My mother has desktop computer, uses it for work too, and writing stuff. Also just normal internet surfing.

Their not interested...My dads works too much, he hasn't got time for this kind of things. My mother just likes to look at dog pictures, hehe. She also works a lot and is busy with something else. My sister just isn't interested. She has already 17,000 messages on some other board, and doesn't want to leave it. I'm still trying to get her here tho. She might just enjoy it, shes that kind of person.

yeah, that's what we have. both laptop and desktop. them computers are very handy nowadays, aren't they? I just heard wind from my b/f that they now have a PDA out. which is cool also if you get the one that has internet wi-fi capable. but, i don't think that i could enjoy a PDA over my desktop, ya dknow?

OMG, I'm so sorry to hear that fratertelo. Did you find out who stolen your laptop? And is there anything that you can do about it? That's awful to have something stolen of yours, and especially a laptop. since them things are so high in price. my b/f loves his, and I guess that if his got stolen, he'd go crazy like ever. I would seriously try to find out who did it, and investigate on it. I wouldn't let it go.

Yeah. Believe it or not, my laptop has way more power and speed than my desktop. Laptops are really getting good now, much better than they used to be. Plus I like the convenience of my laptop, and that I can take it with me places.

that's what my b/f says about his laptop. he says that the laptops now have about the same memory as a desktop does, if not more. there for the longest time, i thought his laptop didn't have as much memory on it like my desktop does. and we argued about that for months lol. until when he bought his laptop, and he showed me on the package that it came in that it did have 512 MB of ram on it. so, that's pretty cool though.

Hello ashly. I have an old laptop with the brand IBM. It is as old as seven years old, but it still works well since I do not use it to play games, but do some search online. It is good enough for me though. I don't think that I will get another one till it really wants to get retired. lol.

i think that's the bad downside that I wouldn't like about a laptop is that the battery doesn't last long. although, they are very handy to have, i think that i'd like the desktop more, sinc eyou don't have to plug it up everytime when the battery runs down. my b/f has to keep his charged up every time that we are home. and if we do go anywhere with it, and if he takes it with him, he has to bring his battery charger.

BTW, I forgot to mention to you that since you said that your laptop get hot, my b/f bought him a laptop cooler and places it under neath his laptop and than he keeps it cool all the time. :) you might want to think about getting that and they aren't that high neither. he got his for around $20 at walmart. it is one of those that you fold up and you place your laptop on it, and it circulates the heat everywhere. it's not like sitting down on the table, or your lap. the laptop is up and the air can flow through the bottom of the laptop.

I have three computers in the house, two desktop and one laptop. One of the desktop is almost obsolete, but another one is till in good shape. Recently, I bought myself a macbook, and it's awesome. The screen is much smaller (13"3 VS 17"), but it's mobile and way faster than the desktop which I bought four years ago.
