I think it's great that you cook for yourself. I know a lot of people leading single lives that can't be bothered to cook for just one person and end up eating 'crap food'. When I'm alone, I do cook for myself, but one meal usually is enough to feed me for three or four days.

Hi fluffnflowers,
Thanks for the nice response.
Its good you also cook that doesn't matter how many meals if you can cook one meals i think it is better than not cooking and eating some crap and feel hungry all the time.
I am sending you friend request pl accept it.

hi moneymint!
you beat me there. i'm a girl and i'm single but i don't cook for myself. ^__^;; i'm too lazy to cook. at home, i just let my mother do the cooking. i wait until the food is cooked. and i'm smart not to complain about anything, the taste, the kind of food, since i'm not the one buying the ingredients and doing the cooking. ^__~ but when i was in college and i was living in a boarding house, i used to cook for myself every night and every weekends. that's because there's just no one to do it for me. and everybody there in the boarding house were all independent and taking care of themselves. so i had to take care of myself too. ^__^;;

First, you can't ask [people to rate your discussion because it is against the guidelines and maybe you might want to read them again. I know I read them often just to remind myself of the rules as I don't want to spend time posting and then have it deleted and I don't earn anything for it, so it is just a waste of my time. If anyone were to report you for breaking a rule, you would lose this discussion and all of the responses would be deleted too, and then your earnings will go down and so will all of the members who responded, me included. So I am not going to report this but be more careful in the future as some people here will report you.
I always cook for myself even if it is only me eating it. My 25 year old daughter lives with me and is usaully home for meals but even when she isn't I still cook for me. I am watching my weight and losing like I planned so I have to eat good porportioned meals in order to continue to lose weight. I have lost 30 pounds and have only about 10 to 15 pounds more to lose but they seem to be the hardest to lose.

It is good to cook for yourself so that you can save money. If you eat out all the time, you'll end up spending 4 x more on food. The fastest way to becoming rich is to save as much as you can...at least that is what I have been taught.

I cook for myself when I get up earlier than my husband. I do not do it that often because he is home now, retired, but he worked the afternoon shift, and I wound up cooking supper for myself even when our sons were home, because they wanted to cook their own meals themselves or they would go out to eat.
That is what comes from having two sons who put themselves through university working in a restaurant.
Before I was married, I made my own meals, except that on Fridays, I would order a Tv dinner or buy Chinese.

As often as I can, I will try to cook. Working long hour in the office means it is always meals outside. Nothing beats a home cooked meal, even if it is simple.
Some how, food cooked at home always tastes better.
Especially if you have a mum to cook for you to eat, it is even better! Some how, a simple thing like fried eggs taste better when mum cooks it.
Of course we cannot discount the efforts of the wife who cooks a good meal as well. It is always nice to come home to a nice hot home cooked meal as compared to eating out.

I love cooking. I actually cook twice a day, lunch and dinner...the onyl thing about cooking is that somedays I be in the kitchen cooking, turn around and see some ingredient and then my mind says ok do some baking and make such and such...so then sometimes I end up cooking and baking all at the same time - just can't help it.

I get out of the cooking. my husband is the kitchen guru and I take my place in the laundry. I know where I'd rather be! lol. Our laundry is under the house, so I'm outside!!!!
We have a large family, 4 kids and growing, so cooking has become almost a catering event! lol.
When I was single, I did occassionally cook a proper meal for myself. I used to go to our local markets and buy meat just for me and veggies etc. I'd then break them up into single serves, putting the rest in the freezer for a later night.

I live with my parents. Dad usually cooks for us. He loves cooking and I love how food turns out when he cooks. As his job demands, he goes out of town for quite a few days so I have no choice but to cook sometimes since mom's not into cooking. Three weeks ago, I tried to cook spaghetti. It was my first time in 21 years of me living to cook spaghetti. Well, it tasted like a real spaghetti so it wasn't half bad. LOLz.

I'm still in the process of learning how to cook. But I do like the idea of cooking food for myself or for the one's I love. Right now though, mom or my cousin does the cooking here at home. I apply the things I learned sometimes, and cook food even if it's not that good.

I love to cook for my family. It is one of my passions in life. We rarely eat a meal outside of the house because of my love for cooking. It is so expensive to eat out and so cheap to cook the meal yourself. I would go broke eating ouside the home if I chose the same meals that I fix at home.

Hello...I cook for myself everyday, well for me and my husband. I like cooking, I'm getting pretty good at it, I think. My husband doesn't complain, he don't care what I feed him as long as he gets fed..lol. I get a break on the weekends tho, we usually like to eat out.

You're one of a kind..not all guys, much more bachelors find time and energy to still cook for themselves. Just want to praise you for that. I hope my son would also learn to do that after school. Well, good-luck!
