I can't believe this! Hubby loves him and well, I like some of his stuff too, I think this is a great tragedy in the comedy world. Just as it was when Richard Pryor passed away.
" Carlin, who had a history of heart trouble, went into St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica on Sunday afternoon complaining of chest pain and died later that evening, said his publicist, Jeff Abraham. He had performed as recently as last weekend at the Orleans Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas. He was 71.
On Tuesday, it was announced that Carlin was being awarded the 11th annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, which will be presented Nov. 10 in Washington and broadcast on PBS.
Carlin's first wife, Brenda, died in 1997. He is survived by wife Sally Wade; daughter Kelly Carlin McCall; son-in-law Bob McCall; brother Patrick Carlin; and sister-in-law Marlene Carlin."

I saw that on the news this morning and one of the first discussions in my mail box was, who is your favorite comedian.. I remembered seeing the news about George Carliln and I automatically named him as one of mine.. My husband and I have a long history of watching Goerge Carlin, he more that I.. He was hilarious but a bit too raunchy for me.. It is sad to see another one leave us..

George Carlin was a comic icon who spoke for an entire generation, starting in the 60's and until now about some of the truths in life wrapped in such great humor. He made us laugh about general things in life, about ourselves and/or people that we knew. I loved his comedy as a teen and more recently loved his comedy about getting older. He will be missed.
