I agree with you, of course, and I would like to comment about the most important word in your post. "Learn" Respecting others is not something you're born with, it's something that is learned and every parent in this world should teach their children to have respect for others. It would make it a nicer place in so many ways.

yes, as human beings we should respect each other. if not respect life will never be peace. appreciate each other is something that is important in community life. not only in the society, with family, friends, children we must also respect each other. with our respect, our lives will be peaceful and there was no hostility and misunderstanding.

According to Newton's Third law of Motion for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction .This applies not only to the moving bodies but also to moving feelings of human beings . You can not command respect. commanding and if you are getting respect it is not real . This type of respect you will get only when you are in power when your power is gone no body will turn towards you ' but if you are a good and helpful person when you are in power if you lose your power also people will respect you in the same way as you were in power . Yes, I agree.. respect is needed in our society today. Parents and adults should teach the children to pay due respect to older people, to their elders and to anybody. Training the children to be respectful should start at home, the teachers in school will just teach a follow up values that was earned by the kids at home. If children are not taught at home, the teachers will have great problem in school. Therefore parents and teachers should help one another to model to the children how to be respectful.

You have to be respect yourself.If you can't respect what you are doing , people can't respect you.if they don't respect you, you don't feel like to respect them.
