Goodbye Internet Explorer!

I've decided that I'm not using Internet Explorer anymore. It kept having all kinds of problems whenever I tried to use it and certain sites would freeze or not show up correctly.
So I switched to Opera 9.5 and so far I like it very much! It is easy to use! I haven't even had a chance to check out all of the special features or anything and already I am happier with it!
What internet browser do you use? Internet Explorer? Firefox? Opera? Safari? Why do you use it?

Opera is wonderful and is the only useful browser for my handheld. But for Windows I also like FireFox although I'm having some problems with their new 3 which was just released last week. I also like Magic Browser. I use them all, including IE but just for sites that will not function correctly on the other browsers, of which there are a few that I must access from time to time.
I usually have more than one window open at a time and more than one browser as well.

I use FireFox and Internet explorer for my personal use. I said 'Personal use' because I am a web designer and so have to check with most of the popular browsers. The work has to look good in all of them.
I like Safari very much so I also got the safari version for Windows. I would buy a mac notebook some day and use the original Safari. Though I haven't been able to use Safari much, it is my most favorite and the best browser...I think.
Thanks!

I liked safari for awhile until we started doing our fantasy football on the NFL site and it would keep crashing! I think now my hubby uses something that starts with a C? (I can't remember what its called and am not on the mac right now, lol)
It is hard to get a site to look good in all of them!

Thanks for the best response!
I could imagine how it feels when some code doesn't work as you want and crashes your browser!
Its a difficult task but its possible, thats what I do :)
Thanks again!

I use only Microsoft IE. I have tried Mozzila firefox also opera but none of these suits me. There are too much options and confusions.
I feel both these provides tab browsing.
With Microsoft IE version 7.0 tabbed browsing is now possible. It also has many new features. I found it very easy and useful... sober, classy and stylish.
Browsers other than Microsoft IE consumes more RAM.
Regards

Everyone always has their own preferences :) If you are happy with it, that's good. But I couldn't take ie crashing all the time anymore. Maybe it depends on the operating system? Vista and ie don't work together as nicely as firefox and opera do.

I used internet explorer for the longest time (who didn't?!) but about a year ago I switched to Firefox and just love it! I love the tabs and simplicity and everything that goes along with it :) I don't think I could switch back to IE after becoming so hooked on Firefox!

I think opera is faster than both of them so far. It's good to have a few available just in case :)

I am currently using firefox. I have tried opera before. They're both awesome I would say. I don't have any problems with them at all. They make my online experience worth it. I agree with you, internet explorer has problems sometimes. I can attest to that as well having been a user for quite some time in the past.

I think both are a good improvement & alternative! I can't waste all my time everyday fighting with ie though, that's for sure!

Yeah. I am sick of IE. Especially after the advent of Firefox 3.0. Should I have to say Goodbye explicitly to IE?

Hi,
I am a Firefox fan. I hardly use IE now. I found Firefox more convenient to use. But, at times, when Firefox shows some error or does not open a site, IE comes to my rescue. By that I mean I use both but more of Firefox.

I have used Internet Explorer, I use it often too but only for some specialized things. I have also used Opera, for a very short time because my friend asked me to try it. It is fine and I have no problems with it. Right now, my browser of choice is Firefox. It works fine and I am fine with that.

Internet Explorer 7 and don't think to change. Before IE 6, when Microsoft hadn't introduced tabbed browsing, I used Opera and this is a very nice software. The problem was, as sites were designed for IE, frequently the emulation didn't work and the pages didn't look what they were supposed to. Since version 6 brought up tabs, I'm very satisfied. I use the Windows Live Toolbar. there I have buttons to anything I need and use. Combined with the tab bar this makes a very slick and slim two lines. At the left I can open the Bookmarks, Feeder and History window.
It let's me also configue page printing, security items, etc.
I really like my Internet Explorer and look forward to version 8!

I learned yesterday a program will only work on ie - I was so mad! And thought what crappy web designers they must be! Alas it is for work so can't really go without it.

I had Firefox on my other computer before
it crashed. But when we got this new computer, it had
Internet Explorer. So that is still the one
that I'm using.
I should download Firefox cause I loved that.
But it had an annoying way of deleting my
bookmarks when it downloaded updates!
Hated that.

Maybe they've fixed it in the new Firefox 3? You might also like opera.

I'm using Firefox after having a lot of problems with Internet Explorer. Firefox is great and easy to use. It also has less chances of bringing viruses to your computer. It's weird though that IE still has a major chunk of the market. In a post a long time ago, the myLotter claimed that IE takes up about 70% of the market. I don't know why but it's just not good anymore! Good thing you switched!

It's not good with Vista, that's for sure! I think they have to be losing people left and right.
