what's your name and where did it come from??

My name is Carlinda. How my parents came up with my name is that my dad liked the name Linda and my mother wanted Carla. So they ended up just putting them together. They did eventually separate, so guess my name is the one and only things in their marriage that they ever compromised upon. Well, at least I have a good story about my name, then, right? As, it seems no one has ever heard of it, and I got told all the time what an unusual name I have.

Hi Eliren and welcome to mylot! I'm Juliet and I was named after my birthmonth which is July. My dad is very fond of shakespeare too that he even named my brother Romeo lol! When I gave birth to my four kids, we agreed not to plan for a name. We just discuss on the name thing after the delivery and we see to it that it will be just short so the kids wont have a hard time writing it as I saw my classmates still writing their names while we're already answering the 10th question:)

I am from the great country India. My real name is 'Deepak'. It is an Hindi word, which mean an earthen lamp, which is lit with the help of cotton and oil. Deepak i.e. earthern lamp gives light to others.

Mine's Rebecca Katharine. My parents chose it because they are both teachers and they wanted a name that they didn't assoicate with horrid kids! Makes me laugh that fact! I don't call myself Rebecca I call myself Beki. I went for such an unusual spelling on it because I wanted to make people realise which beki they were talking to (there were about 4 of us in my year) the spellings stuck and I wouldn't change it!

I am a girl and got my name from my dad they just changed the spelling lol. Not a very fun or romantic story to my nam. But my dad was named after a bank robber lol. His parents could not dcide on a name and his mom heard the name announced over the radio so that is how my dad got his name. A little more fun than how I got mine.
