you can't even remember your phone number that you know by heart?
I experienced it about two weeks ago. I haven't been sleeping well that week and my husband and I went to my kids school to enroll them. I tried to avoid conversation because my mind was somewhere else and Im in no mood to talk and listen. When it was time to fill out all the forms, my hubby asked me to do them by myself. Normally, it would have been easy to do that but that day I forgot a lot of things. I cant remember their bdays, our telephone numbers and other info that I do know and usually remember.
Have you ever felt disoriented like this?

I have that problem all the time! I know the stuff is in my noggin somewhere and it's just a matter of finding it and pulling it out. But it never seems to be there when I need it.
Mine, however, is illness-related. I have fibromyalgia and one of the symptoms is called "brain fog". I definitely have it!
Poor sleep leads to many different symptoms, including forgetfulness. Since you hadn't been sleeping well that week, I would say that is the culprit.
Stress or tension can also cause that. You may have been a bit nervous being at the school which can cause temporary forgetfulness.
Also, as you said, your mind was somewhere else. That could have interfered with your remembering those things.
I hope you are better now! If not, you should see your doctor about your sleep problems. There may be something he can give you to help you sleep better. Personally, I take melatonin to help me sleep. It works better than any of the prescription meds my doctor gave me. You can get that anywhere vitamins and supplements are sold.
Take care and sleep well! Also, welcome to myLot! I hope you like it here.

Hi! Sort of these confusons gripping almost everybody in day to day life, one day or other - going to bank and struggling to remember exact account number, before going to bed forgetting to remember whether you locked the main door or not, etc.etc.!

or going to the market and forgetting the items that you paid for...cooking something and forgetting if you have already put in the spices or not...or cooking something and forget to add one of the main ingredients... I rather not do anything when Im in this mood. I know somebody who have a very good memory and I really envy him. Thank you for your response.

I've had plenty of days like this. I wonder if it's due to stress or a mind game involving your sub conscience. Days like this can be hazardous, lol. It's like you forget everything you know and you feel so dumb because f it too. If you have too many things going on in your life, this tends to happen. Your mind tries to filter one thing at a time and it shuts down completely, lol.
